Christ the guitar work between Curley and Carlos is so good, one of the most underrated guitar duos out there right now.
Love how unique and seperate it is to the previous 2 singles, but still somehow has the exact same vibe. This album is going to be insane
I love TWS and Jack White in general, don’t necessarily love all of his solo music or TWS for that matter but when I had seen the praise this was getting I was getting incredibly excited for this, but I don’t know, I’m just not feeling it.
There’s some great moments don’t get me wrong, but it all feels a little too one dimensional and just not as catchy as you’d hope. It’s solid, and there’s some tracks in particular that I really enjoy, but ... read more
This shit is insane😭 Peggy’s ability to evolve musically is genuinely so inspiring.
At first I enjoyed this but I knew my opinion was bound to change and with each listen, it just go so much better. Heavily disappointed
Also RIP Aaron Carter
A new TSP record that’s.. listenable?…
Feels like everyone is shocked by how okay this is instead of it being absolute shite like their previous records. I think “Edin” is by far the standout track which is kinda unfortunate seeing it’s the first track but I mean yeah just a very very solid opening.
And the rest of the record holds up not too badly either. I think “Pentecost” and “Goeth The Fall” I could leave to be fair, but the other ... read more
Have to say I really really enjoyed this. Instrumental is great and yatchys voice compliments Ian’s voice. Only real problem I have with it is that it doesn’t really go anywhere, kinda just stays the same so I’d rather if it was just shortened a little bit or it changed up slightly at one stage. Nice collab though
I really like Denzel but damn this is incredibly lackluster for a Denzel project. Only two standout songs being “SKED” and “HOT ONE” which so happen to be singles from the record.
Just didn’t do anything for me, it was an okay listen but nothing mind blowing at all
With his final album, Childish Gambino goes all out there being as versatile as ever, which works well for the whole record, but it does lack in balance as the first half of the record is great but the second half does let itself down.
I think my main problem with the tracks in the second half is that it does lose focus in certain tracks, which doesn’t make them unlistenable but just not all that memorable really. Some of his best tracks ever are easily on this though.
All in all, ... read more
I feel so ashamed that it’s taken me this long to review this, but my god this just does something to me that no other record does
It feels faultless to me. It knows exactly what it is and what it has to deliver, which it succeeds in but is also so much more than that. Absolutely a must listen!
It’s common knowledge that Joba is the most talented musically speaking out of Brockhampton and this just proves it😭 he could’ve literally gone into any sort of genre and make it work I stg
So fire
Loved “Gods Country” so much so I cannot wait for “Cool World” to drop oh my goodness gracious
#1 Discography Dissection: Fontaines D.C.
So this brings us to currently their most current record to date, with “Romance” only being over a month away as it stands, but it’s clear to me at least that “Skinty Fia” shows just how brilliant this group truly can be.
Some top tier post-punk songs on this, with brilliant songwriting and performances all across the board. It’s clear that these are special and have so much more to give, but this solidifies them ... read more
#1 Discography Dissection: Fontaines D.C.
Apologies for the inactivity, been busy with different things and getting hugely into movies😭 but alas;
“A Hero’s Death” is the second studio album from Fontaines D.C. and is a complete improvement on all fronts compared to Dogrel.
These improvements include the obvious upgrade in production, song writing as a whole, vocals, guitar work and more experimenting. For only their second record, it’s very well put together and ... read more
20th anniversary review!!!
I thought it was only fitting I do a review of the first record to ever come from my favourite band (well either these or smashing pumpkins, still undecided)
Tbh there’s not a whole lot that can really be delved into this album, it’s just a bunch of bangers really😅 Guys drumming is as amazing as ever, which is one of the main standout points of a lot of Reuben’s music for me. Have such a huge love for Jamie’s voice and his guitar playing, ... read more
EDIT: 68 --> 80. Huge shoutout to @TazRatesMusic for the inspiration, sorry I completely forgot who posted them originally😭
Album has since grown on me so much and I just love Fontaines so much more than I could imagine. Very strong set of songs on this with no duds. Only real criticism I guess I can give is it doesn't feel like a complete album with a consistent story or feel to it, which isn't even a bad thing necessarily as the album deals with all sorts of themes and issues. ... read more
