APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 88

okay this thing is out of this world, nina's got such a massive discography that i dont even know that ive ever just sat with an album and listened to it start to finish. what an experience and so so timeless, gorgeous lyrics, gorgeous melodies, some big band vibes without it ever overpowering her - there is definitely a few songs that don't quite hold up like the rest, but the highs were so good i cant find it in myself to care much

APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 89

was starting to feel like my reviews may have a bit of a recency bias but no this album may have truly changed the world - first 18 tracks are a masterclass, from starstruck onwards she lost me a bit. i forgot just how many hits she churned out so quickly, like going through these songs i could have sworn it was like a 5 year release cycle. the production on most of this holds up really well and it such a great example of an album that just instantly transforms ... read more

APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 90

big nostalgia factor but even that couldn't bump it's score up that much, might get exiled from the country for this but it's just nothing special. maybe i've heard it 100 times too many, 4 tracks carry the whole thing and really push the overall rating a lot higher. i get it, they have such a recognisable sound, this was a crazy seller then and now, it still remains one of the best-selling albums of all time and was super influential for the following decade, ... read more

George Michael - Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1

APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 91

yoooo maybe i listened with a bit of prejudice, because i still dont believe this is george's best album, in fact i think make it big could even be better than this. this entire thing is held up by the lyrics, i wish that it was sonically a bit more engaging because god does he have some good stuff to say. still a solid album, voice of an angel, almost entirely self-written and self-produced because obviously he was a genius !! but if i'm looking at what else ... read more

APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 92

i mean what is there to say really, it's so good. honestly not my favourite tyler project BUT i know there would be no igor without flower boy so i love it for what it gifted me. oddly a few songs on this album i don't enjoy as much as i used to, but overall this holds up as a whole. feature heavy but in a good way, such a shift from what you were used to hearing from him, flows together nicely, i gotta give the flower boy his flowers, boy.

APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 93

wooooow i already knew i loved this one but it just never gets old - fantastic top to bottom - production, vocals, LYRICS, flows together so so well, interludes that actually add something. this album is so very important and it holds up the same today, not only in the aspect that it's just a great album but also sadly is still very much relevant to the struggles in the conversation of race 8 years post it's release - what a phenomenal record, one i definitely ... read more

Burial - Untrue

APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 94

haunting as. production is great and the whole album ties together super well, however, it didn't completely hold my focus and kind of sat in the background - this isn't really my daily listening, but can absolutely see how influential this record was, unique sound that definitely paved the way for an entirely new genre while still giving a nod to past UK garage. this is the first rating on this list that i feel may be affected by the listening environment - ... read more

APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 95

it actually needs to be studied how hard this falls off at the end - if this finished at 'simple things' this would probably be a mid-80s album, it's legitimately a masterclass in the front half - insane production, beats, and vocals, particular props for always crafting the perfect choruses. the back half was a hard listen, i think i repressed it from my memory. no denying the massive influence usher had on r&b and i do think a lot of moments on this album ... read more

APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 96

okay i feared the nostalgia factor was going to creep in a bit here but i genuinely think this is the pop coming of age bible. i remember this album coming out when i was 15 and it consumed me for the 6 months that followed like i was the demographic for this shit and i was under the spell - it's not something i've returned to for a full listen with a fully developed brain but god it's aged so well. the production on this thing is literally perfect, and every ... read more

uh okay ... this one gagged me a bit ngl

[EDIT] i'm back after 2 hours, literally had to call my mum and apologise for turning my nose up as a kid, this thing just blew my mind, i'm still shaking my head. hooked from the opening track, i don't even know what to say. lyrically amazing, production amazing, nothing i love more than a song that incites mutual rage at the man you know what i'm sayin

APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 98

overall a pretty enjoyable experience, i would be remiss not to mention this is definitely not my everyday listening so i cant really rate this album against others in the space or how groundbreaking it was at the time but i know for a fact i could not escape sicko mode and it still holds up well today. top to bottom the beats on this album are incredible, don't think it was the most cohesive as a whole maybe because there was 41 (!!!!!!) producers and 112 ... read more

APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 99

the title track does carry a bit here, it's a 100 for me, didn't really feel like any other track on the album came close to it - some great moments and honestly a pretty easy album to listen to, just classic dad rock vibes, kinda background music-y (which i honestly do not think is a negative !!). but this album to me is much stronger lyrically than it is sonically, i don't think there's anything particularly revolutionary about the sound here but i think ... read more

APPLE MUSIC 100 BEST ALBUMS - 100

i wish i had listened to this thing in it's entirety in 2010, it actually would have blown my mind like i'd probably be a different person right now. this album was ahead of it's time and has clearly continued to influence electro-pop to this day. sonically it's amazing, kept catching myself smiling at how good certain parts were. that being said, as an entire project, i don't think the every song holds up today. granted, this isn't the best album to be ... read more

first review !! 1 2 1 2, is this thing on ?? i always thought rubber soul was my favourite album as it was the first time those guys really went off script, but holy moly, i just listened to this album in full for the first time in a couple of years and there's a new sheriff in town. obvious absolute smash hits on this one but the whole album flows together so well, beautiful but still trademark beatles LSD induced vibes. they just couldnt help but pick up the sitar and tanpura again could ... read more
