Meant to post a rating earlier since I listened to this a couple weeks ago now. I enjoyed this album a lot more than Cool World for some reason, and I now can officially say with confidence that I am a Chat Pile fan. The passion and sheer dark and gritty tone of their music is something to behold.
This is so gas. The Smashing Pumpkins really never misses. This is a great example of a group switching up their style but maintaining such songwriting and creative integrity.
I have really mixed feelings, but overall really positive. There are some really great songs, but I feel like it’s just too… normal for Wilco. Wasn’t as bizarre and creative as I’d expect from them. Idk, it’s still great tho.
Edit: I just realized that this is their second release ever. Lol, that actually makes a lot of sense. This is actually really creative and amazing for a second album.
This guy’s vocals are insane, damn. Also I love how melodic and dramatic it gets; pretty much exactly what I want out of Metalcore.
Oh BOY, do I have thoughts about this album. I love it. It’s wonderful. It’s so so strange, it’s unpolished, it’s mystifying, and with an ending like that… it’s surprisingly tragic. I know this isn’t supposed to be a concept album but the fact that it ends the way it does leaves a sour taste in my mouth. More like, it just makes the whole experience seem melancholic in retrospect. It’s cool tho.
Other than that, the other songs are just some ... read more
Really great stuff, but unfortunately there were just a lot of slow sections where I got kind of bored. Didn’t get as hardcore as I really hoped for.
This album is not perfect, and as many others have pointed out its flaws almost outweigh its pros. That being said, there are some songs on here that are genuinely sad in the purest way, which I have to respect.
This is PEAK! I love Duster sm
Duster has taken on a modern sound that works really well. I can’t say it’s completely reminiscent of the older work that made me fall in love with them, but it’s a natural progression that I can’t help but get behind. Plus, I think it’s ultimately really good for the band that they’re growing and evolving.
I don’t like the sound of this album. Every drop has this weird bass boost thing that doesn’t sound good and the vocals are pretty ok but the guitars sound off and idk man it just does not sound right to my ears.
First half was honestly not very remarkable to me. Starting at Tape, it really picked up. Pretty cool stuff after that.
Lives up to the hype. Pure, unadulterated 90s energy and spirit, which I will always appreciate.
This album was very cool and very fitting for the night walk I just took. Really cool sound design stuff and cool vocal sampling throughout. Just really cool stuff. I’m surprised I have the attention span to appreciate it 😆. But seriously, I hope to listen to more ambient stuff like this because it’s really good and definitely out of my comfort zone. Favorite songs were Endorphin and In McDonalds.
Hum is such an icon of a band. Their riffs and vocals are in some ways pretty simple, but their overall sound is so big and powerful. Definitely a nice album.
Not worth rating, but I can say I enjoyed the listen. A simple worship album that gives me some nostalgia and good vibes. The “It Is Well With My Soul” cover is pretty egregious tho.
