A Rare Sighting... A Genre Invented By White People
What a great and creative album. It still sounds modern (possible thanks to the remaster), still sounds dark, still fun, still a headbanger. I can vividly imagine some British kid at a music house in 1970 getting his mind-blow and falling backwards while tapping his foot. I'd also like to say that i prefer the US Version, Wicked World > Evil Woman, and when the tracks are combined they stand out more.

Slightly Overrated, But Still Very Pretty
Although Leonard Cohan doesn't have the greatest technical ability, his written ability can still shine on here.
BEST PARTS: Suzanne, So Long Marianne, One of Us Cannot Be Wrong
WORST PARTS: The Stranger Song, Stories of the Street
WOW this one took a while...
After two weeks of rotation, I think I've got it. Although it has it's highlights, there is still a lot of space between those moments, and that's where this album starts to contradict itself. On specific song listening's, it's not always the best. "93 Ave. B Blues" is just not good, and don't even act like 'it's an immersive interlude.' It could easily be removed and doesn't really do anything on ... read more
Well Damn Deftones... aren't you the dark horse...
Nah but seriously this album is really good and the perfect evolution of their sound from "Adrenaline" to "Around the Fur" to this. I'm still a little new to metal but i gotta check out some other stuff after this cause this was seriously impressive. Also "Teenager" is underrated.
BEST PARTS: Feiticeira, Digital Bath, Rx Queen, Change (In the House of Flies)
WORST PARTS: Street Carp (still great though)
It's a wittle baby Deftones
This whole thing sounds like Around the Fur B-Sides, and Around the Fur is great, so this is a very solid effort from Deftones. Although it steers a little closer to that early Nu Metal sound, it's still fun times from beginning to end with some bangers sprinkled in. Root through Engine No. 9 is probably the best run. The rest of the album can get a little repetitive other then that.
BEST PARTS: Minus Blindfold, 7 Words
WORST PARTS: Lifter
Some Peachy Little Tunes!
Some of the most abrasive sounds on here. And well lacking a budget, the concepts shine through the filter. This albums greatest flaw is it's repetition. Most songs stay exactly the same from beginning to end, with muffled drums, and Michael Gira shouting the same thing over and over for 4 minutes.
BEST PARTS: Stay Here, Weakling
WORST PARTS: Gang
Elliott's Happy Album
Out of every Elliott Smith album, this is the most casually enjoyable experience. Not to say it's his best (although it's still a 10/10), but to say that unlike his other albums, which are sad albums for sad moods, this can be happy, uplifting, relaxing, and still a little sad. After the mainstream success of XO, Elliott is talking about fame far more often here, seeing himself as an actor, a puppet on strings, and it seems to be driving him mad. But the ... read more
I've had experience in a chamber... and this was a euphoric experience.
One of the best EP's I've ever heard, it all swings together into something truly beautiful. Troubling, yet supernal.
BEST PARTS: ALL OF IT!
Underrated One, Right Here...
In my original David Bowie listening, I opted to starting with "Man Who Sold the World" for my earliest exposure, but I'd say "Space Oddity" is just as worth checking out. Both albums were growing pains for Bowie, but necessary (and pretty enjoyable) experiments. This is where David Bowie really became "David Bowie." Well generally known as 'the one with 'Major Tom'', there are still some great tracks in here ... read more
I'm no patriot - but the American version is just BETTER
Great album, no weak tracks (other then Third Stone), very consistent. I'm rating this higher then the UK and non-deluxe US versions because this is just the best edition. Purple Haze, Hey Joe, Stone Free, Highway Chile, all best tracks from this album in any versions, well this still gets the UK tracks. Plus, those deluxe tracks are better then some of the main album songs. Overall this is just the definitive experience.

I'm no patriot - but the American version is just BETTER
Great album, no weak tracks (other then Third Stone), very consistent. On the UK version in specific, there are no real standout tracks, but everything here is still great. I'd say the UK tracks (Red House, Can You See Me, Remember) don't beat any of the US tracks (Purple Haze, Hey Joe, Wind Cries Mary), making this edition a little weaker. My favorite edition has to be the US Deluxe.

Monochrome = Serious
After listening to "Freewhellin'," I was curious how this album would stand up, expecting it to be worse, but to my surprise, it was even better. Usually with Bob Dylan, I gravitate towards the melodic songs, especially the love songs. But "A-Changin'" is far more personal, telling long stories from far out perspectives, and you tell this is important to Bob Dylan. This leads to the songs being less easily accessible or enjoyable, but if given ... read more
Great Acoustic/B-Side Project
The instrumentals are beautiful. NIN has always had this pretty yet haunting quality to their instrumentals, and this is no exception. In fact, this might be some of NIN's best instrumentals.
For renditions: I'd say I prefer this version of "Something I Can Never Have." It has a more isolated, lonelier feeling that adds to it's emotion. I loved "Le Mer" of the The Fragile, so "Adrift and at Peace" feels like a calming ... read more
For my introduction to Bowie, I had a great time. Very fun, very enjoyable, and some songs really had that emotional resonance.
BEST PARTS: Five Years, Ziggy Stardust, Rock 'n' Roll Suicide
Why did Daft Punk self-sabotage themselves...
This album was made in less then a month, which is extremely impressive for what they were able to make, but why do that. I get Daft Punk wanted their free time, but there is so much potential here, wasted. Still a fun listen nevertheless.
BEST PARTS: Human After All, Robot Rock
You know... i see the potential...
After some return to rock, Radiohead decided to go back to the "beepy-beep-boop" of KID AMNESIAC. This time with newer technology and... I don't really know how to describe it but it's definitely a entirely different sound from KID AMNESIAC. My main issue is it's undeveloped nature. Some tracks feel fully fleshed out, while some a lacking one or two extra touches to make em' complete. Maybe with some more time, it could have been ... read more
you know what? screw it - this is pretty solid. Maybe not a masterpiece, but pretty enjoyable from beginning to end. Everything from here on out was downhill though...
This sounds like a 2022 trap album (a good one), but instead, Travis already knew exactly what he was doing before even having a studio album out. And even if this is 'baby rodeo', rodeo was great, making this not to far off. Also "Drug, You Should Try It" is THE best Travis Scott song oat.
BEST PARTS: The Prayer, Mamacita, Drugs You Should Try It
WORST PARTS: Skyfall, Sloppy Toppy, BACC
