When it was released, Revolver was a completely overlooked and underrated record. Today it´s considered, by lots of people, to be the best Beatles album or even the greatest album of all time. To me, this could have been true if the band had cut down Yellow Submarine off the album, a song that just kills the flow of the record and is annoying to say the least. Still, this is pure gold.
Blonde on Blonde combines the craziness and the mind-blowing stories of its predecessor with the romantic side of Bob Dylan. What we see is his most eclectic album lyrically and melodically.
Visions of Johanna is the song that defines this album and what I said earlier. Brilliant!
This album is such a visionary statement. The lyrics are imaginative and complex , and the music has an intensity that I think few albums have ever matched. In addition, the way Bob Dylan sings these songs is very cynic (in a good way) and it sounds like he´s making fun of us (especially on ballad of a thin man). The epitome of coolness.
It´s a strong candidate for best double album of all time. So homogeneous in its sound, but not samey. Unfortunately, it´s the last masterpiece by the band!
I know Dark Side of the Moon is masterpiece. I also know Wish you were here is amazing. But Animals... Animals is a monster of a record and it´s quite funny since it starts and ends with a really peaceful song and then explodes.
Dogs = Best Pink Floyd song ever and there´s a lot of competition.
