All Top 10 Albums Of All Ranked: Album #6- Illmatic
Yet another pretty enjoyable top 100 album pick, but not my favorite. I found myself kind of bored during some parts of this record and not really enjoying the sound of some songs. But, the lyrics are pretty good and it tells a good story that flows throughout the whole album. It's kind of just like a mix between pure gangsta rap and Madvillainy, making it a good blend between the two. Although, I wasn't too fond of some songs, most ... read more

Update: Back for more top 100 biz, couple more days, and I'll do more than one per day. Now the review:
Another hip hop album comes along, Madvillainy, and once again, I don't know what to expect. But what I got was not what I thought. It was a very instrumental and sample heavy hip hop marvel, with a lot of short tracks, which I'm not used to on albums. It's quite a good experience, and the production value is ... read more
A pretty decent album from pop icon, Lorde, exploring a very quaint and atmospheric sound and nice lyrics to add on. The whole album is not very consistent, like the middle is much weaker than the start and end. But when the good songs come, they come real good. This album has that kind of indie design, kind of combining elements from her other projects with electronic from her debut, to art pop and dance pop from her sophomore, and singer-songwriter on her most recent before this one. ... read more
All Top 10 Albums Of All Time Ranked: Album #4- Vespertine
This album- a truly beautiful, ethereal journey that feels like you're walking through a winter sunset. The instrumentals are immaculate, and the album is extremely consistent. There are no skips whatsoever. Plus, it doesn't fail to experiment with avant-garde sound throughout this album. Her songwriting and vocals are also pretty special too, complementing the record's tone and message. There are really no major ... read more
All Top 10 Albums Of All Time Ranked: Album #3- good kid, m.A.A.d city
Honestly, I preferred this album over To Pimp a Butterfly. I mean they're both pretty amazing LPs, but I guess I prefer more of an authentic hip hop album. While they're both clearly rap, this one feels purely rap, not really diving too much into blending elements from other genres like soul and funk that TPAB did.
I think what might have won me over is the storytelling. It literally feels like a musical short ... read more
All Top 10 Albums Of All Time Ranked: Album #2- Songs in the Key of Life
This is an album about life. Just all the parts of life, personally, socially, spiritually, romantically, and much more. It gives off a lot of positive energy, and you can't help but smile during this experience. It's long and for a good reason. Highly recommend.

So, yeah, I'm gonna rate the top 100 albums of all time, the ultimate challenge. Look out for 1-2 albums a day, plus a new release every Friday. Now the review:
So, I've never been known as a hip hop/rap fan at all. In fact, I love rock, it's my whole thing. When I saw that a rap album was at number #1 of all time, and I was to do this series, I wasn't sure if was going to please me or not. You know I ... read more
Hey, here we are with another Strokes album review, this time on Room on Fire. This album kind of acts as a sequel to Is This It, providing really a similar vibe to being almost identical in sound. Still having Julian's signature raspy vocals mixed with slacker rock guitar riffs and tight drums. Though it's very similar to Is This It, they still experiment with lyrics and sound design heavily. I mean, they're not just gonna copy Is This It bit by bit. The real star of the show, ... read more
Ian Curtis' vocals really sound like Paul Banks from Interpol for some reason. In fact the whole album feels like a version of Turn on the Bright Lights, but older and british. Which is great because that album is my 2nd favorite of all time, no joke. You can clearly see Interpol took some elements from this record to put in their own. But here's why it's still spectacular, but not better:

So, I have quite a lot of thoughts on this album, so strap in and enjoy this really long review...
Through this review, I'm going to mainly compare this record to another spectacular, and probably the up there with the greats of folk rock just like this, The Glow, Pt. 2. It has a lot of similar elements, instrumentation, and scratchy guitar sounds that this album does. Plus, it gives a fair comparison of this spectacular album to another spectacular album. Anyways..
So first, the lyrics. ... read more
All Imagine Dragons Albums Ranked: Album #7- LOOM
After 7 albums now, I've made it to the end of listening to all of the band's albums. And to end off this journey, LOOM is their most recent album. Here, the band goes real experimental creating a dance record with a new step for them. Not a good step though. In my opinion, this is worse then all of their albums except for Evolve and Origins. Those are undeniable bottom tier albums. Though it may be different, it still follows the ... read more
This album might be called Ten, but it sure isn't a ten out of ten.
So, I've been wanting to listen to this record for quite a while now, mainly because my dad says it's one of his favorites of all time. But then again he also has the most based opinions saying that Imagine Dragons and Falling in Reverse are great, and The Beatles are the worst, which is not okay, obviously. So going into this album I didn't know what to expect.

Easily the best AJR album. Mainly because it contains an actually good song, The Dumb Song. And this is the only AJR song I'd consider listening to again. Nice! Still though it's a bad album, it's just the production quality takes a step up. The lyrics are still crap, but a little bit better. Just a little.

This one really feels like a Radiohead album this time, it has a lot of similar qualities to The Bends, with the more raw and hardcore side of things. Anyways, it's a pretty good album, with some very good production, and some good songwriting 99% of the time. I rated it this low because there's much better things coming for the band in the future (Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, etc.). Still good, though, that's for sure.

All Imagine Dragons Albums Ranked: Album #6- Mercury- Act 2
I don't have much to say much about this album because it's literally the same as Act 1... except it's a little more pop than rock and there's a lot more songs, so that means FILLER! Hooray! I mean there's infinite filler on this album, with the weakest lyrics and the most overproduction possible. I mean they just pull off the AJR lyrics on some songs now, yikes. I do not recommend.

Third Eye Blind's self titled, what can I even say? It's extremely close to a 90 for me, but not quite there. The 6 in a row track run is crazy good at the beginning of the album. In the center, it has some amazing tracks, but none comparable to the beginning. Then it closes off on another 3 track run. It's real heavy, but not too much containing more power pop and pop rock unlike most alt-rock/grunge albums do. The lyrics of course are great on all songs, but I think that the ... read more
So, my dad always gives me album suggestions, and Superunknown was one of them. In fact, he's been bothering ever since about it. I've told him stuff like "I have Black Hole Sun in my playlist I love that song", and that was true. But, my dad is my dad. Now, I finally decided to check it out today, and oh my goodness is it something! Other than a little bit too repetitive at times lyrically and "Half" being an almost pointless interlude, it's almost grunge ... read more
After pulling through a bit of a hardship in making good music, they finally came back with this spectacular album right here. It isn't the next Is This It or anything but it's unique in its own way. See, it doesn't just use their modern style, they also mix in elements from Is This It or Room on Fire to make a pretty good result in its path. It's not as raw, but has unique ideas and concepts that make it quite enjoyable. And Ode to the Mets. That's my personal second ... read more
While it not be as good as their spectacular debut, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, it still greatly delivers. It contains some of the heaviest, yet emotional songs in their entire discography. I mean the bridge and chorus at the end of 505 are fricking ascending. While it might not be as consistent as WPSIA,TWIN, it still feels awfully raw and adventurous.
