Heard the Bandcamp version - without "Nobody's Fault but Mine", which is a Led Zeppelin cover, I suppose? If somebody could send me that, I'll be very grateful.
This kinda feels like GonjaSufi's "A Sufi and a Killer" lite only because of the mixing/post-production or something else regarding the actual sound quality, not the music itself. I'd probably like this way more if there were no vocals (as with me it's the case 9 out of 10 times).
One of the few records that I love this much that's not all over the place with genre-crossing and mood-switching, but provides me with an amazing ride throughout it's whole runtime
I guess I don't love this too much because it sounds very happy-go-lucky to me, too joyful for my taste =P
This was maybe somewhat of a disappointment for the fans who waited 9 years for a new LP by their favourite producer, but fortunately I was never a huge fan - so for me this isn't anything to write home about, be it in positive nor in negative light. The ex yakuza member dabbles here in quite a variety of genres with few to none of these experiments truly panning out as a memorable piece of music, creating a mixtape/compilation-sounding record which definitely isn't a highlight in ... read more
My completionist ass got me sitting through another underwhelming record by this obviously talented and appealing musician, whose record "Body Riddle" I kinda loved - with the high hopes that he somehow gonna top (according to my taste, OFC) his earliest 3-6 albums. I don't vibe with his music since the self-titled record, but still I gave him another chance for no other reason than to say that I've heard every LP by him. Nevertheless, apparently I'll never stop being ... read more
At times sounds like they plagiarized their previous record, but unfortunately I don't find this as catchy as "A Choice of Catastrophes". Still, the level of bold experimentation and innovative genre-crossing is present again, they're probably even more prominent here - with the emphasis on the waltz-sounding numbers like "Green Light" or "Fixer Upper". Although mostly none of songs pass the 4 minute mark (just "Trust in Man" is 4' 13" ... read more
I just don't understand why everybody hates "Lifetimes" less than "Woman's World" or than anything else on this record, for that matter - maybe most songs on here are lass annoying and forgettable to me than bloody "Lifetimes"
Sorry, Laibach did this better ^_^ Revisiting these Henrik Nordvardgr Björk's side-projects that I was listening to in high school and realizing why this kind of martial industrial really doesn't work for me, but still I find them, like this particular compilation, to be a great introduction into the true antifa martial industrial, as I like to call it - because the aesthetics are edgy and the people have prejudices, they think this guy is a nazi - be it in both good or bad way! ... read more
"Our Love Lies" sounds like a cover of a Leonard Cohen in his "The Future"-era
I think this is as closest as they get to their cult record "Illegal Nervous Habits"
One of his best records, just because is so out of his comfort zone
I love this because the extracted parts work on their own as separate pieces
...which reminds me that this band, especially here, sounds like a sensory overload of up-lifting nu jazz for tweens, as a particular introduction to the specific style
This sounds to me like a panorama of their whole career: a little bit of RIO-esque guitars, a little bit of leftfield electronica + Randy's signature voice
