UPDATED REVIEW -
After many relistens and having the pleasure of seeing Sleep Token live in concert, this album is genuinely perfect to me. It really hits everything I look for in music and does it extremely well in my opinion, If you ever have the chance to see this band live I recommend it highly.
HOLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
This band just do not miss. Courtneys vocals on this song are actually heavenly and so soothing to listen to, and the instrumental work is so damn good. Spiritbox remain, one of the few modern metal bands actually worth listening to.
Stinkin' Park.
Damn, where to begin.
The main singles leading up to this albums release I found pretty enjoyable, especially "Heavy Is The Crown". However, as a whole this album fails to hook you in, the singles only hold it up so far. Songs such as "Cut the Bridge", "Stained", "IGYEIH" and "Overflow" are cookie cutter generic radio rock that bored me to tears, I thought I was listening to Imagine Dragons with how dull it got at times. ... read more
Again, I fail to understand the hype around this album.
Boring and frankly uninteresting riffs combined with mid vocals fails to hook me in at all.
Am I hearing the same shit as everyone else?
Pretentious, hipster nonsense is what I would describe this album as. Absolutely awful.
Why the fuck are the ratings for Anesthasia Pulling Teeth so low. That shit bangs.
Hit the Lights, No Remorse and Metal Militia are all mid, but the rest of the album? Straight bangers bro.
-10 points for MX which is just over 20 minutes of silence.
Aside from that and me not being the biggest fan of 1 or 2 songs, this album slaps.
HELLO MY FRIEND WE MEET AGAIN, ITS BEEN A WHILE WHERE SHOULD WE BEGIN?
FEELS LIKE FOREEEEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Probably one of the worst album covers I have ever seen but god damn do My Sacrifice and One Last Breath go absolutely CRAZY. There is some generic butt rock slop on this one, but It absolutely has its moments to shine .
Perfect.
The shortest 2 hours of my life, literally everything I like rolled into one album. 28 beautifully angsty and emotional tracks with absolutely zero filler, every single song on this album was amazing and kept me hooked for its entire runtime.
From the gorgeous piano pieces, acoustics/clean guitars and orchestral sections of songs like the title track, By Starlight and 1979 to the killer riffs on songs like Zero, Bullet with Butterfly Wings and Tales of a Scorched Earth, this album does ... read more
Wasn't sure what to expect coming into this, with a name like "Jack Off Jill" I assumed I was in for some cringey ass early 2000s crabcore shit. I am glad to say i was pleasantly mistaken.
While I don't think this album is perfect, due to some songs sounding very very samey, It has some absolute bangers on here and is overall a really solid punk rock album.
The first Midwest Emo album I've ever listened to, gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised.
Some really cool ideas on this, really uplifting and exciting. Some songs are rather samey sounding but as a whole it is a super enjoyable listen.
