This is actually a lot of fun, a super solid psych rock/pop album, and probably their best thus far. I just want Temples to stop taking themselves so seriously and write something more sincere and human. I've finally found it. A perfect 5/10. The exact, precise mathematical middle of the road, down to the molecular level. True neutral. We know not why it exists, merely that it does exist.
The way camera obscura's music makes me feel is the way I expect belle and sebastian's music to make me feel but it never does. Basically belle and sebastian walked so camera obscura could run there's my lukewarm take of the week
Every time I think "wow, there's no way Caroline Polachek could possibly cram more into this song to make me love it" Caroline Polachek turns around and crams another thing into the song to make me love it
Not many albums can justify a 2 hour runtime. This one also can't but it comes surprisingly close
