Nothing groundbreaking or all that new for Carti and def way too long but still fire!
With each new release she just keeps improving and building upon the promising foundation she established a few years ago, and this is easily her best stuff yet. Great pop album and I’m very excited for her to hopefully continue on this upward trajectory.
The music here sounds good and I really enjoy listening to it while it’s on, but I can’t shake the feeling that often this just doesn’t sound like it was made by an actual human being with like feelings and emotions and a personality and stuff. Bland and generic and basic as hell, but hey, there’s a place for that! Not mad at it at all. Pretty good production too.
I knew to never doubt him, because while this had one of the WORST rollouts I’ve ever witnessed and is still kinda all over the place and the weakest of the “new trilogy”, goddamn do the best moments on here really fucking hit. The title track is like instantly top 5 songs he’s ever made. I obviously need to listen to this more and let it sit with me before knowing exactly how I feel about it, but if this is how he goes out, what a way to go out.
The kind of album I’ve wanted from her for a while. A lot of fun moments but always still meticulously crafted and being taken seriously by her. Experimental while still having a focused and concise sound and aesthetic. Not every song clicked with me like the best ones but still loved it and can’t wait to listen to it all the time.
My comfort album. Was in an anxiety spiral tonight and listening to this brought me out of it. Cloudbusting might be the best song ever
Definitely an improvement over his last and has some great tracks (I especially loved “Now You Know”) but I still don't think he has reached his full potential yet
Very different from her stuff in MUNA but still really good. “As Good As It Gets” w Mitski and “Sanitized” back to back is CRAZY.
I need time and more listens to fully articulate my thoughts on this lol
