My opinion on this record changes year by year. Sometimes, in the wee small hours, if I'm listening to the High Hopes solo, it will *feel* like this is the greatest album ever made. That's how powerful endings to albums can be sometimes. If I think critically, this record isn't consistently as good as its highest moments. But it has so many high moments. Unique moments. I love thinking about all of the cowards and potential abusers who listen to this album and think of it as just noise. They think this is performative. People who have never been abused believe deep down that the abused are making it all up, because they want to hold on to this idea of sitting alone in their room playing Roblox and imagining that things are fine.
