this was a huge album for me in my emo phases, and each song here is solid. but honestly, after a couple years removed from it's initial release I feel like the songs have gotten less replayable. still an imaginative body of work that's gripping and immersive.
at first i didn't like this album, but it grows on you the more you listen to it. a great album experience.
there are some fun songs on here but Keem's more 'immature' vibe on here kind of degrades it for me. songs like pink panties and south africa are not it.
short, concise summer-coded west coast rap. solid, energetic and keeps great energy.
the highs of this album carry it, but there are some songs that are very easily skippable, though it at least carries good energy throughout.
MCDONALDS RAP
bro is putting the fries in the bag with initial cool ideas with disappointing execution.
also he is like an abuser
some insanely baffling choices here production-wise but it's highs carry the album so well it doesn't really matter
honestly with cudi's record now it's very impressive he was able to come out with such a solid body of work. it's pretty standard psych trap at points but cudi reigns in his charisma for a heartfelt, energetic experience.
i love how slow and thick the production is here. the songs can feel simple at times, but the immersive world made here makes up for it very well.
gorgeous orchestral / synth production with surprisingly unique instrumentals. a great feel-good album.
