The last two songs carry this so much
I am not a fan of the first three songs, I actually disliked them, but Black Magic and Become are beautiful and great. Unfortunately, that's only 2/5 good tracks, but they hold a good amount of weight.
Take notes Filthy Frank fans, this is how to do a shitpost
it's weird, poop and pee humor. it's not offensive or racist or homophobic (country song is a bit weird bc it's like alabama cousin song so yeah). Also it's not super long so it isn't grueling.
Maybe i'm in a good mood but I found some of this to be pretty funny. Obviously it has no real merit to it but it's got that childlike charm. It's something i'd make with my friends in middle school or something and I'm so eternally grateful ... read more
Definition of production can carry albums. However, unlike being bad, Jack Harlow just delivers a mid performance here but he has good production so it's a big improvement.
Before I write this, I need to state 2 opinions:
1. I LOVE Rage production. I may be in the minority saying this but yes I love how Rage is produced
2. I wholeheartedly believe in the statement: "The Faster a Rage Beat, The Better The Song." The only time this doesn't apply is when you have quieter production. You cannot have loud rage with like 100 BPM.
Every song here just feels so slow, both literally and figuratively. The beats are just too mellow for "Rage" and ... read more
Great start, but a weak slow ending. Title track is incredible and Spiral is my favorite song here
A band of 3, Fowlmouth comes from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. My sister goes there, and is friends with one of the three members (or maybe more).
That's about as much as I know of Fowlmouth. I heard them performing this EP when I went up to visit my sister a couple days ago and I liked what I heard, so I checked out the official EP.
The title track is blissful and beautiful, love it. Some incredible indie folk with amazing vocals, great lyrics, and just simple guitar chords that ... read more
It's albums like these that are the essentials in every way. This is blissful, soulful, beautiful, creative, just incredible. I love it. I really love it. (a few songs are like ehhhh but yes it's as good as they say
Rating the version with X, Trippie, Ski, and Quavo
One of the songs that got me into rap. I can probably rap almost every word without even thinking. It's just an incredible song with some hypnotizing production. Love it. I miss the old X sometimes.
4 songs in: Not really feeling it, kinda boring and mid
end of album: damn that was good
Let me talk about this album, because I am in awe.
Taken from Wikipedia: "According to legend, the 10-minute title track was recorded in one take when George Clinton, under the influence of LSD, told guitarist Eddie Hazel to play as if he had been told his mother was dead: Clinton instructed him 'to picture that day, what he would feel, how he would make sense of his life, how he would take a measure of everything that was inside him and let it out through his ... read more
Alright so IDK i might be in a bad mood but this album is just boring. Video Games is pretty cool, The final 3 tracks are all good (the last song is only good for the last like minute). The title track is good in comparison to other songs but some songs on here just suck and made me want to turn this off.
Especially Off To The Races and Blue Jeans, wtf are those songs they are so bad
bea what is this
i've heard two projects from bea, her two full albums. those are both great. this is just a huuuuge step down. I mean, this is mixed so poorly, the last song is just terrible, the songwriting is bad, and the only thing saving this album is the small amount of charm it has
Sooooo....
I hate to say I didn't like her voice, but that's mostly why I didn't think this was a great project. The instrumentation is great (mostly) and I think this album is good. But for some reason her voice just doesn't work, especially with just quiet instrumentals and iI mean idk. Maybe my mind will change on this but as of right now this is how i feel
Management is a great ending track tho, I will give her that.
The first three tracks are mind blowing. I love all 3. The last 3? well i mean pwf is good but i just don't feel the other two. However, this album has such a good aesthetic and the production is insane. redveil's vocals stand out as the biggest flaw. The peggy feature is great, and I love that this album loops into itself. Overall, really solid!
It's a solid record. For the genre, it isn't ground breaking and is far from perfect, and the album itself can get quite boring. Despite this, the project itself features great instrumentations and beautiful melodies.
As I neared the end of my flight, I decided to listen to one final short project. I chose this as I love Griselda and I thought that there's no way this could end on a bad note.
I was right. This EP is very good. Not perfect, not even close to perfect, but still very good. I do agree with Fantano's take that the features on this album overshadow Benny a lot. But come on, can he really compete with Pusha T, Conway, and Jadakiss. The answer is maybe, but he definitely cannot be ... read more
I felt weird listening to this before listening to anything else from Fishmans as this is just a live performance of their songs (I believe). However, I am so glad I listened to this. I kid you not, I made notes for every album that I listened to on the flight to remind myself about the albums and their details. For this album, I already remembered everything about it and I doubt I will ever forget about anything from this record. In my notes app where I had a lot written for every album, next ... read more
Uh oh:
Alright so this is a lower score than I expected to give And I know this is definitely a controversial opinion. However, I have yet to look at sample breakdowns of this album, and I listened to it on a 12 hour flight with 2 crying babies the whole time. Maybe I need to revisit. Not maybe, definitely.
