Ah, Floor baba. What a zany, creative electronic speedcore artist.
Funnily enough, Wigglecore is one of my favorite songs of, like, ever. I fucking love it, seriously, which is why I decided to give this entire album a shot. Turns out I like more than just wigglecore. Whirlwind? Bro, that shit is heat. HEAT. Dirt Bird? Not exactly my thing, but DAMN is it a groovy beat. Coldgrain? That flute could get any creature, no matter how small the brain, schmoovin.
Now, unfortunately, there's also some ... read more
King gablizzard and the lustrous wizard yet again prove that they can make some hard ass psych music in this record. This album takes on this sort of desert-music theme, most likely inspired by the Fallout series now that I think about it. As for the song themselves, I find that they are enjoyable, but suffer from the fact that they dull your sense as you're listening to this record, making you kind of just flip through them, struggling to focus. It makes the album a bit of a drag to go ... read more
Never expected a rock band to pull off this folky-pop sound so well, but here we are.
Really, King Gizzard are one of a kind. This is just a damn good record, man, full of catchy melodies, surprisingly interesting lyrics, and cool effects. Love the 100 Gecs impersonation at the end of Paper Mache too.
Good shit, king jizzard. A very captivating album with neat story telling, great drumming, and a good overall sound.
Also-- Damn do King Gizz know how to end an album. That put a big ol' smile on my face.
You can't pick and choose songs to listen to from this album. It's a full on experience, and yknow what, I respect it for that. But it's just not my thing.
Okay so, alternative radio is a band my friend got me into.
I will be honest right here and tell ya this album is nothing special. It's just a standard pop album. BUT, it is a very good standard pop album. Songs like Lottery girl and satellite city are incredibly catchy and just good listens. Give this one a shot.
A solid pop album that is very inconsistent but has high highs. Nothing spectacular.
From the three TMBG albums I've listened to, I expected not to like this one at all. I was wrong.
They Could Be Bigs made a damn good album in Apollo 18. Somehow, none of the songs felt like filler (except for the obvious filler songs), and I was able to enjoy each track quite a lot. Even "The Guitar", which was very clearly going for a new-wave sound plus had a weird sampling of the melody "the lion sleeps tonight", was a pretty good track. Even though I don't like this ... read more
Ah, yeesh. I don't know if I'm just going through a musical burnout but this album didn't really do much for me. Still, Billy Joel has this talent to never make bad music, and it shines here.
Edit: Yeah this album is super forgettable. There are no stand outs, really nothing that makes me ever want to go back to it.
Groovy. Not as good as Remain In Light, but undeniably a solid record.
This is the best derivative album I've ever heard. It seriously sounds like it came right out of the 70s prog era, and a good ass record from that era at that. We NEED more people on this album dawg, this shit is amazing. (Especially since it was made by one guy).
Sorry, but I wasn't a fan of the heavy improv. This is by no means a bad album, but it's hard to find much enjoyment in it.
Revolver by beatles was a bit underwhelming. But, come on man, it's the Beatles. As long as it's a song made by them, there's no way I can hate it.
Yeah this shit is kinda lame. This album sounds like a really boring Weezer project. It's definitely got some good songs, like the first 2 and vegetable, but otherwise, it's a snoozer.
The sound of this EP grows incredibly tiring early on. And that's REALLY bad for an EP.
I find this album very, very boring. But it isn't bad. Just not for me.
