When that one friend is obsessed with ga. Cant believe i have to listen to this. The songs on this ep were way to generic and still followed the problems of the difference to the instrumental and vocals leaving the sound odd and awkward to listen to. Each song didnt sound separate to eachother and sounded almost the same. However woozy absolutely carries this ep. While theres still some problems with it i feel like this track was redeeming. The intro wasnt anything interesting it almost made me ... read more
A friend made me listen to golden antlers and i noticed that the song follows the same problem that i had with the first album. I feel like they build up so much to have an underwhelming release. The tone and flow of the vocals dont go well and synthesize with the instrumental making it sound unfinished Which is pretty much the point of this i feel like they couldve done more to refine the songs and gave it alot more energy.
this is a damn good solid song from slipknot. they show that they still have it through the many years of the bands evolution for the better or worse and is alot better than the other single. however listening to the two i fear that the album will sound too similar and wont have any unique selling points for new and old slipknot fans
i wanted to like this so badly and i think alot of people feel that way about youtuber music but even when i was biased there was alot of things that just didnt sit right with me. seeing this from an open point of view this is potential that cant be unlocked and just sounds far from finished
this album will never be matched in grunge history. this album as a whole follows alot of dark and gruesome themes. each individual song has its own identity and sounds amazing on its own. i can truly appreciate every song on this album whenever i like whether its going over the whole album or its just appearing on my playlist as background noise
Edit: 100 -> 92
Just refining things
this album needs more attention. for metal of this era this was something else. some of the best bass and drums ive ever heard with vocals that blew me away especially in the outro of the title track, pure anger and violence. any metal fans i know i have bullied them into listening to this
I CANT GET INTO BLACK METAL OMG. the vocals were way too screechy for me and while the instrumental was good the sound felt odd and didnt resonate well to me.
Edit: 63 -> 80
guess what
this album opened my eyes to a new world of music as this is a genre i rarely even dip my toes in and there wasnt a sound like this that ive ever felt so connected to.
an incredible piece of art that shocked me from beginning to the end. the funk really was within me with the outstanding instrumentals and kendrick's impressive flow
this album struck me as odd first time listening to this but now i can appreciate alot of the songs with their own rights. another amazing album i would recommend to alot of people
this album is overhated and called a clone to the first album but this album has amazing tracks with it that i believe that can stand up with the masterpieces that are in the first album
i listened to this album when i was young. it was life changing for me as i finally found a sound that made me appreciate the making and performance of music as a whole. the story within this album is something like no other, i mean i literally used the lyrics of this song as the song of my choice for an english lesson where we get to annotate a songs lyrics (the only english lesson ive enjoyed). each song has a landscape that comes to mind that abruptly leaves my mind when the music stops as ... read more
the songs on this album are shadowed by their title track and lonely day. they need some love because none of them disappoint.
part of the double release of albums mezmerize and hypnotize serj took a step away from heavy vocals but before learning the fact i never really noticed. its amazing how songs like B.Y.O.B are still as heavy as their songs from earlier work with higher pitched vocals. these guys are absolute geniuses for this time. even more wacky lyrics on here following the formula system of a down strived from but still not making it repetitive
an album that shouldnt be overlooked. while one of system of a downs least known and least appreciated pieces it still holds up with their other albums. more songs with important messages while making the song as heavy and as catchy as possible but this album was prided with more of the odd and weird sounds followed with hilariously thought out lyrics with a deeper meaning behind like in Chic 'N' Stu
it is so tough to split this album with their amazing self titled album. this album felt more raw almost with someone beating you with a plank of wood with all the chips flying off and making everything dusty. an album with important messages that become more relevant as the days pass which shouldnt even be the case but system of a down knew the world we lived in. serj did an outstanding performance through the album with deep heavy vocals in songs like prison song and deer dance but then ... read more
definitely the best system of a down album in my opinion. it had a psychedelic feeling to it that sucked you into a wormhole with each song that unleashes rage to the listener. serj's amazing vocal performance was strong from the start and you can hear the passion he had with every note. break down the layers of each song it leaves a groovy imprint on the instrumentals while making you violently bang your head to this masterpiece
if this was the version with marmalade it would be 100/100
had high hopes for this album and left with it semi satisfied. there wasnt much to this album that made it stick out and while the emotion was definitely there it felt like it was following a crowd of just sad albums that needed something else to it
