Maybe I need multiple listens, some parts are very catchy and fun. But some parts are very jarring.
All these songs feel so red. I was immediately transported to another world with the first song and the vibes just kept going on. Highlights include The Robots and Das model. All the songs sound really similar tho, there's not much variation in this album and it just ends abruptly. But, with this being released in 1978, and them being possibly the first to ever do fully electronic music, it gets a pass. I used to think that it sounds very dated due to people innovating more but there's a charm ... read more
Crazy how every song feels like a colour on the album cover, from black and grey tracks like acoustic blues tracks to the bright red rock tunes. Ball and biscuit contains the best guitar solos of the new millennium. Seven nation army is on this too, you can feel the rock and roll with this one. The worst part is definitely the acoustic tracks, cuz there's like the album closer and the cold cold night was just begging for a massive build-up and breakdown but it just didn't happen. The first half ... read more
What I love about the process behind this album is the fact that all members scrimped and saved and had no financial backing at all! This led to the iconic gritty noise that I absolutely love 😘 Jokes aside, it's fun, catchy, influential and gave rock and roll a second wind. What's not to love.
Favourites: Take it or leave it, Is this It?, Someday
Say what you want about this album but they made the twix double the size tryna make us fat
TLDR: Chinese Radiohead, not as good. You should still listen to it tho, especially the second track, I really like the second track.
声音玩具 (sound toy) is an art rock band from china. I would say that their music is heavily inspired by Radiohead, even to the point where other bands/ chinese people sometimes refer to them as Chengdu's Radiohead. However, Radiohead's sound is cold whereas sound toy's music is warm. Is this album Radiohead quality? No. Most of the songs here are sound the ... read more
I don't know why but the line "But one day we will die and our ashes will fly, in the aeroplane over the sea" is just so beautiful and hits so deep. The saw bows and guitar and Jeff Magnum's delivery, the lyric and music work together to blend history and fantasy together into one unique world that you can't find anywhere else. It just conjures up a scene on a grassy plains by the seas in 1940s with exploding planes in the sky and yet it's so serene and beautiful. That's basically the ... read more
Are you emo because you listen to the black parade? Or do you listen to the black parade because you're emo
I can hear the similarities between nirvana and many other bands i listen to. However it's like a wooden pickaxe in Minecraft, there is the diamond pickaxe which everyone wants but they must always start with the wood. Essential, still kind of holds up to this day. Has it's bangers. Maybe i need multiple relistens but I don't really think it should be that high of a score. Majority of the tracks have a really catchy melody in one small portion of the song then back to the repetitive noise. And ... read more
Imagine taking an elevator 🛗 and the elevator brings you above the clouds. Nothing but clear blue skys with the white fluffy clouds under and beside you. The door opens and you feel weightless and you start to float around. That's what it feels like to listen to uchu nippon setagaya. With some songs bringing you to the dark night blue sky to skipping around in slow motion, bouncing off the clouds. It's an immersive experience, i will definitely be revisiting the album

Trigger warning: SA, Rape
Thought this was no kick. But i was dead wrong. This is truly a heart crunching ep, especially the last song which has no instrumentals and you can hear her thoughts clearly. Spoilers after this, i plead you to go listen to this ep then come back. The first 2 tracks are from the perspective of the boy and it really made me felt that the girl was the bad guy in this. But hearts and crosses didn't hold back and told you straight up that the dude raped her, no beating ... read more
First listen thoughts: They are very influential, with this album pinoeering punk and many others. They were the first ones to do it, but they failed to make it timeless. (63)
Favourites: 1969, no fun, Ann
After 3 listens: I used to find this not special, but I can't stop playing 1969, i wanna be your dog, basically the entire album. After a while i truly appreciate it. This is such a gem, from the wah guitars. Solos which are in their own world, not playing to the rythm and yet it still fits. ... read more
Amazing record. Some songs drag on for too long and there's filler. But i feel that there is a huge diamond for you guys to find as some of the songs are like really really good, like 9/10 territory imo. Some songs here will have you head bopping the entire song, it's just relentless in a good way, never slowing down. I think much more people should listen to this and give this a chance.
