Frontloaded: the album. But it's still ween and it's still great. The other songs are not bad, but not as good.
11 year old me would have eaten this shit up and the plate along with it. Now, I think it's good. The mix of genres works very well and gives a fresh listening experience. This is my first time listening to like metalcore (shoegaze) and it's not bad. I like the instrumentals alot and my favorite part is the first part of heavy is the head where it sounds like a black metal song. Sweet. Not really much wrong with the album, it just boils down to personal taste.
10/10 game, but even during my playthrough I was not noticing the soundtrack other than a few exceptions (mantis lords, city of tears). It never jumped out to me or caught my attention that often. But it is serviceable and sells the atmosphere well. Listening outside of the game? it's very good at points but pretty forgettable in between.
It's the soundtrack of the winter slowing turning into the lush lush green spring. The excitement of a fresh warm start after a harsh cold, the melancholy of time not stopping and continuing to pass by as we grow old.
A pleasant listening experience but forgettable at points.
best: CREEK, GREEN and STREET
Usually albums released in the 50s don't give much thought to how the album would feel. It's just a bunch of songs clumped together, but Chet Baker sings offers a cohesive sound with a strong theme of love and heartbreak. His voice is very soothing and unique in the world of the crooners.
Daft punk made some masterpieces on this album. Its a unique blend of genres. However, I am not fond of get lucky, didn't get it back then, still don't get it now.
Best: Give life back to music, Giorgio by moroder, instant crush, touch and contact.
worst: get lucky
I know I will piss a lot of people off with this score. I also find it guilty scoring it this low, with this being J DIlla's final artistic statement before his unfortunate passing. I didn't find any moments where the production or sampling jumping out to me. I really do want to like this album, I'm sorry.
Crushing, moon is sharp is just phenomenal, immediately popping into my favorite songs of all time. It outshadows the rest of the album. Overall, it's a solid and serene album. It took me to an empty void, where it feels cool and warm at the same time.
Does not hit as hard and not as dense as RTL for me. But it's still a solid album. I just feel that Ride is denser and more cohesive than MOP.
It can get super duper catchy in a good way multiple times throughout the album. At best, it's extremely catchy to the point that you don't mind it getting stuck in your head. At worst, the lyrics are lowkey cringe but its for teenagers so yeah.
favorites: 40oz on repeat, west coast, bad habits
Nah like, the user score is too low. King Gizzard makes 30 minutes fly by and makes 15 minute songs so catchy and memorable. Just when I thought the second track would be worse than the first, they absolutely nailed the ending of this album and song. Needs more love, needs more move
It sounds so intimate. The crackling of old audio, the simple instrumentation, and Johnny Cash's soothing voice. It's a relaxing yet reflective listening experience.
favorites: Drink to me, five feet high and rising, i want to go home, my grandfather's clock and it could be you
Very good single, and amazing rendition of "baby i'm yours"
Once you heard 1 fela kuti song, you heard them all. But that one fela kuti song is really really good. That is my main gripe with the album and fela's work in general, it always follows the same formula of a long instrumental section followed my 1 or 2 verses by fela then the song ends. Other than that, it is a jam, it is a protest album.
Aside from fela not being that great of a person, he is a dedicated artist who dares to say what he wants to say. Even when the government is up in ... read more
Incredibly dense, very catchy. It really does sound that it radiates electricity. Hetfield vocals was on point, guitars ride the fine line between melodic phrases and technical skill. It rarely ever goes into mindless and soulless shredding. There is really nothing much to complain about this album. Even the worst song: Escape does not drag the album down. Every song has like 2-3 catchy riffs or melodies, densely packed mang!

The groove is so fucking tight. Vocals and rhythm compliment so well. Theatre core but it's so good
IT'S GONNA BE A GANGBANGGGG!!!!!!!!!!
Serious review: Album so sad I can't even enjoy the brown songs on here. This really is an emotional experience, most of the striking and beautiful lyrics are easy to understand, backdropped to one of the most psychedelic, intense music i've ever heard. The songs are crying along with gener. It's not perfect due to some okish songs shoveled in-between masterpieces, the brown songs doesn't even feel like ween was having fun making ... read more
