Geese - Getting Killed
89

Masters of tension & release. Very inventive and unique playing, structure whilst still being for the most part accessible. Shout out to Cameron Winters, his vocals is top fucking notch, kills it every single song.

Modest Mouse - Blue Cadet-3, Do You Connect?
60

As the first project is crazy. You can literally feel that these guys are going to make it big

Modest Mouse - This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About
93

This is on par and sometimes surpasses Lonesome Crowded West, it has everything I love about Modest Mouse. Both are so good, so essential

Guided by Voices - Bee Thousand
73

Just a nice set of catchy songs that I sometimes wish they were fleshed out. The lo-fi sound does not really add/ subtract anything

Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West
95

Modest Mouse/ Slacker rock 90s Indie as a whole is so fresh. They influenced me and showed me a whole new dimension of guitar playing and composition.

Even though the album tends to sag here and there (especially from out of gas to truckers atlas). Other than that it's bangers through and through, managing to end on a high note after truckers atlas. Not saying that truckers atlas is bad, but I need to be in the mood to enjoy it.

Favorites: Teeth like god's shoeshine (opened my ... read more

Kraftwerk - Computerwelt
78

Tends to drag here and there but this album has some of Kraftwerks best. Still prefer Mensch machine tho.

Favourites: Computer liebe

Brian Eno - Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks
74

This album passed by so passively and quickly, leaving me in a serene mood.

Silver Apples - Silver Apples
67

I appreciate how ahead of its time this album is but I can do without listening to it again.

The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
79

I finally get the rolling stones hype, this album is good. Moonlight Mile is my favourite

David Bowie - "Heroes"
81

Even the ambient tracks are stellar. Heroes is top 50 songs oat, it's so beautiful like this entire album. One nitpick I can say that it is that the vocal melodies are not really catchy and memorable.

Fishmans - 空中キャンプ [Kūchū Camp]
88

I may have been too harsh, this album is consistently slapping and making me zen

Fela Kuti & Africa 70 - Shakara
82

Another excellent album from Fela Kuti. Even though Zombie is better than both songs, Lady is not far behind and this album as a whole is better than Zombie (The version that I listened to has other tracks like observation has no crime etc.)

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Float Along – Fill Your Lungs
95

Holy shit, my mind is melting. This album is like combing 2 drugs into one and then taking it. It has psychedelic elements from eastern cultures, 60s garage rock/ pop and the shoegaze and noise rock psych of MBV and Les Rallizes. This is psychedelic upon psychedelic. Almost every song on here bangs.

Shout out to Head on/ Pill. This song has slowly risen up and I am now even considering it as one of the best songs that humans ever made. The slow beginning where you just melt from the punchy ... read more

The Last Shadow Puppets - Everything You've Come to Expect

There are some bangers on here but even the weakest track does not slow the album down or make it boring.

JAY-Z - 4:44
84

I never got the hype around Jay-Z, until now. I always have like a soft spot for people who ended their discographies with a bang (Beatles, David Bowie). I didn't even know much about him.

But this album was so personal, with him talking about past regrets, the projects and the current rap-stars, his family and his rocky relationship with Beyonce, how he distanced himself from the crowd by actually being more than a rapper, but a businessman, solidifying his "CEO boss" ... read more

Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
87

Some of the most re-freshing and creative rock songs I've heard in a very long time. The guitar playing, song structure is weird and changing constantly but it's still extremely catchy and memorable.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland
86

This is probably the peak of Hendrix's vision we get to see unfortunately. Jimi Hendrix was so strong, even with technological limitations of the time, he managed to deliver timeless classics and the world's best rhythm & lead guitar. It has some of my favorite Hendrix songs (Crosstown, ALTW, Voodoo Child). So you might be wondering why I did not put this over Are You Experienced.

Hendrix shines when he deviates from convention, there were many more straightforward blues songs on ... read more

Mount Eerie - A Crow Looked at Me

I really don't know how to rate this album but I will try. The lyrics is one of the most depressing things I've ever read. Just like Phil, you can't run away from the death of a loved one. Every distraction leads you back in one way or another. Phil is just trying to process and figure out his next steps forward. I do not wish this situation on anyone man, I hope he and his family are doing ok.

Now moving on to the negatives: Just like Carrie and Lowell, the lyrics hijack the ... read more

Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell
70

Controversial opinion: For most of the album, Sufjan stevens sacrifices vocal melodies to fit in what he wanted to say. Whilst the subject matter is extremely heavy, the lyrics are unfortunately more memorable than the music/melody itself. The Music at best will make you feel the weight more than the lyrics do. At worst, it's a forgettable backdrop for poetry.

But 4th of July will still hit me like a truck every single goddamn time. I was mentally prepped going in and it hit even more ... read more

"@StevlandMfan I feel that the song structure is repetitive across his songs. Having different structures like Discovery (Daft Punk): One more time and aerodynamic makes for a more varied and interesting listening experience imo."

On The Stooges - The Stooges
"Ik this is late but my opinion has changed. First listen me didn't really stick to the album as much i wanted to. It just did not feel like it holds up, there are heavier songs from other people, more and more punk muscians carried the torch and made the flame glow brighter. First listen me thought of it as a skeleton, essisental but incomplete. Now i think it holds up, and it's a banger"
