Sorry, but I can't help but think of Pierce Hawthorn going crazy on the keyboard with these synths
It is a crime they didn't put this out instead of I Bet My Life as the lead single
They've got the instrumentals and production down, but Sippix is missing just one thing. Perhaps it's vocals and lyrics, or the music simply requires more spice in its melodies, but Sippix has proven he has the know-how to solve it.
You exist... good for you. Anyway, onto the next Actual single
The clackity percussion and bells alone make this one of the best album I've heard. It's all just too good
Strongest: Dissolve Me, Tesselate, Ms, Bloodflood, Taro, Hand-Made
Thanks LuMidnight for revealing that this does in fact exist... anyway
Strongest: Speak to Me, Pistol Whip, Boots, the pit
Weakest: Everything else, like holy cow. No wonder most of this was unreleased
This is supposed to end the COAP Era? Well alright, pretty solid conclusion
All Back to Mine feels like a nice collection of songs, but their messages lack variety, whereas Where The Shadow Ends really explores its concept. This is a real artistic endeavor and must be recognized as such. Starts pretty strong with Rule the World and Supercollide, with a bland middle, and then ends out with some of BANNERS best work. Here's to hoping BANNERS keeps releasing albums
Strongest: Heads and Tails, Supercollide, Someone To You, Where The Shadow Ends
Weakest: No One Knows us, ... read more
Some of their best and worst revisited, followed by one original song which is just sorta ok
Finally, a second album!
I've come to terms that this LP won't quite live up Where The Shadow Ends. The last album had too few singles, and this one had way too many. Only two new songs to listen to, but they were worth it. Ultimately, worthy of being counted among BANNERs albums, just not quite on par with it's predecesor.
Strongest: Tell You I Love You, There Goes my Girl, Perfectly Broken
Weakest: The Best View in Liverpool, C'est la vie, In Your Universe
Haven't finished it yet, but it's nice to hear a more conventional album by cosmo just to remind us he's really good at composing
Sometimes it works, sometimes the vocals are just plain bad. Sadnecessary works because it sounded like a song Spoon would release, and down by the river sounds like alt j.
Strongest: Sadnecessary, Down by the River, Stolen Dance
Weakest: Sweet Sun, Running, Feathery
Someone to you may be the peak of this ep, but songs like Empires On Fire and Into The Storm further justify its existence
Nope, nope, nope. A moon shaped pool, except it's stupid
How are you all giving this a pass? It's so stale and repetitive.
And how do you write a song about the best bird in existence and fail to make it interesting?
Viva la Vida and Everyday Life feel like siblings in Coldplays discography, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I like Everyday Life more. Instrumentally, this is one of my favorites and it's certainly one of Coldplay most distinct albums. In truth, Viva La Vida is Coldplay's smoothest flowing album, providing a distinct character to every song, making it perfect for repeat listens
Radiohead could only dream of making an album as replayable and chill as this
Strongest: Viva ... read more
