I just have this weird fascination with dated synths. Some of these are real bad, but a few others make up for it.
Strongest: Maybe IDK, iRobot, Hand Of God, Morning in America
Weakest: New York soul part ii, fashion, woke the f*** up
ID retrospective: are the albums as good(or bad) as I remember?
Evolve remains IDs Weakest album so far, the most derivative of popular music and their own discography. It sounds like a parody of the band at times, with the occasional stand out here and there. The album actually starts out rather strong, but doesn't evolve past its opening.
There really isn't much to talk about here. There are only 6 songs worthy of note; 3 because they're good, and 3 because they sound like sound tests that ... read more
Looks like another TOP v ID year folks, and this round it looks like TOP is winning!
The song is basically children of the sky except better; but I just miss platz, man. These last two singles are establishing what their music will be like without him and I don't know if I like where it is going.
How can I ever look a bird in the eye again and say I didn't like this album
You can't have a concept album with a BTS crossover in it! What were you thinking?
If this were a concept album, then IDs evolve was a good album. Speaking of evolve, at its best, music of the spheres sounds like a beta version of evolve, and at its worst sounds entirely forgettable. Didn't hate biutyful for some reason; maybe because it mentioned what is objectively the best fruit
Strongest: Humankind, people of the pride
Weakest: my universe, infinity, letting somebody go
Overcompensate was underwhelming, whereas this single hits the sweet spot
Oh that was really nice. I have no complaints except that I wish the bonus track was included in this website's tracklist. Looking forward to the rest of their albums
Strongest: Ends Of The Earth, The Ghost On The Shore, I Will Be Back One Day
Weakest: Lonesome Dreams, The Man Who Lives Forever
Listened to this three times in a row one day, I can barely remember anything besides Five Years and Starman. It's just sad really
Favorites: Starman, Five Years, It Ain't Easy
Very nice, the best produced album that TOP has released. Let the vibes roll over me on this one because I love the industrial gothic atmosphere. Clancy couldve been better, but i feel like it lost the real doom and gloom that Dema is meant to inspire. But that just makes this one slightly superior.
... But vessel's better, GOODBYE!
Strongest: Chlorine, Jumpsuit, Legend, My Blood, Leave The City
Weakest: Cut My Lip, Nico and the Niners
Listened to this on a discord chat with 3 others, and the experience was rather pleasant. At times, this was a nice change of pace from what I usually listen to, while at other times it got real unpleasant.
Favorites: I caught fire, Lunacy Fringe, Take it Away
Distastefuls: Listening, Sound Effects and Overdramatics
I see why no one has rated this since half the tracklist is on an awesome wave, but Leon and portrait are new additions so haza. The two sound like demos cut from an awesome wave, with Leon being rather repetitive lyrically especially. Portrait sounds more well put together and likely could've been added to the track list had alt j wanted. Matilda and something good are both neat, but they're the weakest songs from an awesome wave respectively.
Pretty neat little package.
Certainly an album, and it's got a few good songs too!
Favorites: The kids aren't alright, fourth of July
Distastefuls: Uma Thurman, jetpack blues
I guess they really do what imagine dragons doesn't... make pure commercial fluff. Whether you like/dislike ID, at least appreciate their attempts at stuff like "themes" and "messages".
The only nice thing I can say is that at least this pair sounded like they had fun making some songs
Favorites: Pull the cord, head up
