i mean, it's alright. it's easy to listen to. most of the songs don't really bring any strong emotions one way or another for me, which is certainly not what i look for in music. the high points are really nice though, stripped-down folk with just enough instrumentation to sound full and warm to listen to. i love isakov's voice which is what caused me to venture into his discography more, it sounds and feels like a comforting cup of tea. hello, i'm johnny cash. (proceeds to deliver one of the best live albums of all time)
way too fire for me to listen to while working on an essay, which was my original plan (something this good demands more attention than that). i think johnny cash has an insane amount of natural charisma and coolness which makes this album as enjoyable as it is. unlike some live albums, the crowd and chatter serve to enhance the music rather than distract from it. the story behind it is very interesting ... read more
hazy, dreamy, and beautiful. not a single bad song on this album. i get a bit of a smiths vibe from the chill and almost peppy sound, combined with angsty, occasionally gorey lyrics. it's nothing mindblowing and the songs blend together a bit, so a 90 feels fitting.

the best laid album of mice and men. really uneven, some songs are genuinely great highlights of DOOM's catalogue that i listen to all the time, others that are just kind of bad or too goofy to really enjoy. but trust when this album is good, it's really good, both dangermouse's beats and DOOM's flows over them.
favourites: sofa king ♡, benzi box ♡, old school rules, crosshairs ♡, space hos, mince meat.
pop that feels poppy while also feeling fresh, interesting, and authentic, i dig it. it's not super memorable but there are a lot of strong tracks here and i like her style, i'd be interested to see how she develops as an artist in the future.
