Low Roar - House in the Woods
85

“Today I'll be rеmembered, tomorrow just a dream”

Beautiful, tragic send off. Amazing lyrics about facing death and goodbye to his loved ones. The brass instruments added a great layer to the composition. But the real highlight for me, was the production. Everything just sound so… perfect. Loved the reversed background vocals and vocals spinning around my head

acloudyskye - This Won't Be The Last Time
95

“Above my skin, beneath my bones, the space between is yours alone”

It’s kinda no-brainer that I’d love this, don’t know why it took me so long. Very warm and passionate sound. The drops of the songs are so epic and beautifully executed, and I love the GY!BE sound that seeps in towards the end of the album. The cover art is also gorgeous.

Weatherday - Tiara

God I’m so hyped. Everything has improved from “Come in” based on the singles, and that is LITERALLY MY SECOND FAVORITE ALBUM OF ALL TIME. Sputniks vocals go crazy on this one. The whole track kinda reminds me of brave little abacus, with the math-y feeling and screaming vocals

Carissa's Wierd - Songs About Leaving
100

“Long look in the mirror, just looks back so blankly”

Had me in tears by the first song. Absolutely soul crushing. The lyrics here are wonderful and depicts their depression so well. Both vocalists are amazing too, with the soft voice and beautiful duets

Mitski - Bury Me at Makeout Creek
93

“I will retire to the Salton Sea at the age of 23. For I'm starting to learn I may never be free”

Noisy, raw, and energetic. Catchy yet still heartbreaking. I mean I obviously love this, noisy lofi rock is like, right up my alley. Mitski’s voice is wonderful too. My only complaint is the lyrics are nothing special. They’re not bad by any means, but for a singer songwriter album, not as good as I’d like

Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It in People
96

“We've got love and hate it's the only way”

Catchy and emotional indie rock. Loved the multiple vocalists and the broad range of influences across this album. “Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl” is genuinely perfect, and the callback at the end is a perfect conclusion

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
73

“I think I got something good going for myself. But what goes wrong”

Insanely influential album, lush production, and beautiful harmonies, but one of my biggest pet (sounds) peeves is when songs fade out at the end. thERE ARE OTHER WAYS TO END SONGS, BRIAN

Edit: even though I’m not the biggest fan of this album and The Beach Boys as a whole, Brian Wilson was one of the most important figures in music, and i am very saddened to learn of his passing. Rest in peace

Lorde - Pure Heroine
88

“But I live in a hologram with you”

I heard Royals and Team on the radio a lot as a child and kinda grew to hate them. But revisiting those songs much later with headphones instead of shitty car speakers made be appreciate the songs much more, especially the production. The production across this entire album is immaculate, and easily the highlight. Songwriting is solid, and Lorde has a pleasant voice. Glad I listened to it despite my former feelings, I can really see this growing ... read more

Scott Walker - Scott 4
89

“I was so happy. I didn't feel like me”

Luscious instrumentals, abstract lyrics and an amazing voice. Not one bad track. 1969 was such a good year for music. Really interested to see where his career went, knowing that he got much more experimental later on

Björk - Debut
87

“Jump off. Your building's on fire. And I'll catch you”

Chill and fun little album. Charming, nothing crazy like the next few releases by her, but still really solid

Sprain - The Lamb as Effigy
88

“What am I now if not my failures?“

Raw, visceral, and unhinged, but I couldn’t help but just feel bored at certain points. Maybe I’m just tired but I don’t know

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU: DIRECTOR'S CUT
90

(new tracks only)
New tracks are pretty great, but most of them are a step down from what’s on the base album. Self titled and Come & Get Me are amazing though

Weatherday - Angel
NR

“ Our heartbeats in sync. Our only real link”

Easily my most hyped project of 2025, and so far I am not disappointed at all. Both songs are soooo good, and already made me a bit emotional despite their short length. Production and mixing feels like a huge step up from previous projects, which was like my only issue with Come In. Catchy as hell too

Geordie Greep - Live at TV Eye
99

Almost as good as the studio. PLLEEEEAAASSSEEE release this on streaming, the jams are so GOOD, jam 5 especially, super Swans sounding, the baby sounds reminded me of birthing

Seeing him live on Monday, So excited! I drug a random friend along who has never heard of him prior to me, and mainly listens to butt-rock, so it’ll be fun lol

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
95

“Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer”

Pure loneliness. This album feels like you are stuck in cabin in the middle of winter, and are contemplating your previous relationships. Bleak, isolating, but with a twinge of hope, even if it is just a desperate attempt to feel so

FKA twigs - EUSEXUA
95

“My body aches to be known. To be expressive in itself. I want to forgivе myself”

Intensely creative and high energy album. Production, lyrics, and vocals are all amazing. I really like the themes of freedom and doing what you want, letting loose, being yourself, shedding your skin

Mac Miller - Swimming
88

“Just like a circle, I go back where I'm from”

So beautiful. Production is in easy highlight. Not a single miss on here. Lyrics were very personal about his struggles, which makes his passing all the more sad

yeule - softscars
96

“I would still bleed out, just for you”

Ethereal, emotional, glitchy and noisy. Production is stellar, along with emotional charged and dreamy lyrics and vocals. Will probably grow on me later

JPEGMAFIA - PROTECT THE CROSS
NR

Why is this so hated? I mean, it sounds like a b-side ILDMLFY, which I wouldn’t be surprised if it was, but like, it’s a pretty solid track. Still worse then every track on ILDMLFY

Paris Texas - MID AIR
85

Very energetic and fun album! Neither member of the duo outshined the other, and the instrumentation was on point. Really love how they can get quite personal on a couple of the tracks. The last two tracks are amazing

"I don’t disagree, I also think this album is overrated. But you should totally listen to To Be Kind, it’s literally peak after peak. Much less of the weird stuff you just kinda have to get through (also The Sound at 80 is crazy, way too low)"
