An unrelenting outpour of intimacy and consciousness. I wish I could say more about "Floral Prince" but so much of it's charm comes simply from how honestly Field Medic writes
Pure ear candy. So desperately do I wish I could have gone to college in the 2010's when this is the kind of music that would be playing at parties.
It makes me MAD that this album doesn't have a must listen when every song is above 80 and every song but one is 86 or above what are we doing here, guys?
Listening to Playboi Carti is like being edged by the music. You keep waiting and waiting and you're just waiting for the prolonged intro to end and for the body of the song to start but it never does and you're forced to listen to over an hour of airy, incomprehensible nothingness. There actually ARE several interesting and even enjoyable tracks but there's truly just no reason to plop out this big and greedy of a project with a maybe 15-85 ratio of listenable music

Production so insane the group needs two producers.
clipping. has never been averse to stepping outside of any boxes, and so reinventing themselves once more is nothing out of the ordinary. "Dead Channel Sky" embraces an Electronic, Club Techno vibe that sounds utterly incredible and that Daveed is able to insert himself into perfectly. HIs versatility as a lyricist and rapper are honestly staggering when you consider the amount of varied and frankly ludicrous beats he'll rap ... read more
Some of the most infectiously quirked up music to dance to that you'll ever hear
A daring fusion of genre and concept that I'm probably not adequately knowledgeable enough on to fully appreciate. There's sounds and other elements on "Tsunami Sea" that I really haven't heard on any other Metal or Metalcore tracks.
Metal is still somewhat alien to me, and so I can't wholeheartedly say that I get OR that I can fully vouch for how unique the album is. Still falls into some pit falls of the Metal field that isn't necessarily the fault of ... read more
Lacking that little extra "sauce" to boost it to truly amazing levels, but a decently great time and probably one of the more iconic Funk albums of its time
genuinely altered my perception of music I now only want to listen to music that sounds like this. Feels like the music I was always meant to listen to. The dynamism is insane I felt like I had a private funk performance in all the corners of my brain and the lyrical substance adds even more justification for their efforts
The kind of Alternative that isn't really very alternative. The kind of Alternative that you'd hear playing at an upscale, trendy hair salon. Really only a puddle deep of a listen
My familiarity with some of these songs came first from the iconic Hip Hop songs that sampled them, such as Gas Drawls by MF DOOM (Black Cow) and Eye Know by De La Soul (Peg).
Generally, the sort of "Jam Band" approach doesn't always do much for me, but it's easy to fade into the groovy Jazz of Steely Dan's "Aja."
The very pinnacle of the "Ho-Hey Millennial Folk" type music that dominated the 2010's. Isn't all that bad honestly, but boy is it a relic of a different time when people were listening to Vance Joy and The Lumineers
generally not a huge Billy Joel fan, but even I can acknowledge how many iconic songs are packed into "The Stanger."
The songwriting is some of his best I've heard, before he became a bit too cheesy in the 80's
It's been great (albeit rapidly) catching up to Ichiko Aoba's works and seeing her evolution from a guitar and her voice to embracing a more lush approach. I'm a fan of this newer direction, with the Nature Recordings being a personal small touch that adds so much to the listening experience for me
the big 4 four digits of reviews 🥳🥳🥳
The most absurd thing about this album is that he thought the songs would need a Radio Edit. I might be an actual crazy person, because while "Angelic 2 the Core" is pretty poopoo, it isn't, like, AS bad as I feel like it was going to be. Hilariously bad at points, but really nondescript and bland at others.
The entire second half lost me pretty hard because with the goofy electronic dance elements on the first half I could at ... read more
I don't follow Lady Gaga's music all that closely, but she is most DEFINITELY back. The lengthy tracklist could definitely do with some trimming, but her staple Pop sounds that SHOULD feel stale are as fresh and fun as they've ever been.
MAYHEM is a pretty solid return to form that could have been even better as a more concise project that forwent most of the second half
Funky and Funkadelic Funk straight from the Funkalicious Funkship primed for travel to the Funkulus system, birthplace of Funk
Grabbed me a decent bit more than "To See the Next Part of the Dream" did and I don't exactly know why. "After the Magic" adheres to a pretty consistent modern Shoegaze formula, bringing in those noisy elements that have defined so much of Parranoul and many others in the genre. What Parranoul does on here is done well, which defines this album more than the uniqueness of the sound
Initially, quite the hard pill to swallow in terms of sound and lyrics. Eventually though, the album grew on me quite a bit. Very pointed and profound to the last note. As much as I found Backxwash's unique vocal performances quite compelling, the stellar features really stole the show for me
Stands somewhat in the middle of the Britpop crowd for me. More distinct and well-written songs to me than a group like Oasis, but not as boundary-pushing or purely fun as Blur
