I've been following pty since he started in 2023 and I think it's genuinely impressive how he went from pretty average hip-hop producing to making the mind-bogglingly beautiful arrangements we experience in this album. BLANK also contributed his delicate vocals into the mix, creating a surreal yet familiar sound. It's great that we get such mindblowing projects this early into the year, I can rest assured knowing that music won't go downhill from 2024.

The production on this album is insane, and it's crazy how I didn't get to it sooner. While it bangs (a lot), my biggest problem is when Iglooghost's vocals come in--he just sounds so bored. Imagine you have the biggest banger you've ever heard in your life and the most boring British guy ever comes in and repeats phrases at you for the entire length of the track. this album is odd, profound, and beautiful all in succession of each other. the pacing and beats are tight and thought out and it leaves me feeling a sense of dread that is difficult to capture in the appropriately titled "The End of the World". Once that track ends, "Brownsville Porchlight" demonstrates a vulnerable side to Departure that is difficult to perceive in a lot of what I've heard from him. This track has ... read more

one of the catchiest, most well-written, best-paced hip hop albums I've ever heard. this album is a MUST LISTEN for everyone and it's a flawless CLASSIC album
