Evangelical Christians will listen to this song after bullying their child for coming out to them
From the longer tracklist and song lengths, 156/Silence seemed like they're trying to broaden their metal sound with "Narrative." However, I feel that they lose some of the raw production and tight pacing that was a strength of their debut album "Undercover Scumbag." Not a bad album, but if you don't care for their earlier work you won't care for this album as well.
the cost of giving up: This is a pretty generic, forgettable alternative metal track. Can she stop having the same chorus in a lot of these songs on this album?
crystallized: Reminds me of a weak track off of "Zig," but somehow worse. I found vocal effects to be bad, the vocal performance/delivery to be annoying, and the electronic beat to be overwhelmingly repetitive and too basic.
"Muuntautuja" is one of the most mind bending avant garde metal albums I've ever heard in 2024.
I mean, I shouldn't be surprised considering this band's inspirations for this record were "Death Grips" and "Portishead." The way Oranssi Pazuzu use electronics on this album is very clever and varied from track to track. This album also loves to play with shifting dynamics, to where you will have these sharp changes to where it goes from soft to loud ... read more
I found this single to be more overproduced than heavy on its own. Also the lyrics leave a lot to be desired as it features a couple unnecessary f-bombs that left me rolling my eyes a little.
This album is so disturbing, weird, and purposely hard to listen to
…I love it.
I personally think this is Chat Pile's best work yet. Instrumentally I feel "Cool World" is a step up from "God's Country," in terms of both memorability and diversity. Some instrumentation of this album includes the chaotic, pounding riffs and breakdowns on "I Am Dog Now," some goth rock inspired sounds on "Shame" and "Masc."

"Undercover Scumbag" is a pretty standard metalcore album despite having a bit of a repetitiveness issue. Some tracks try not to be as repetitive as a lot of other metalcore albums by being more soft and slower to try and switch things up. Although, I don't think it fully succeeds with its less aggressive tracks, particularly due to their hooks being on the weaker side and are mainly served as a break from the heavier tracks. I do think the album is appropriately paced for a ... read more
A pretty cutthroat deathcore track that actually sounds good and has memorable instrumentals
The only reason why KSI is in the "Thick Of It" is because of the "Low" bar attacks he has fired against DanTDM for a single tweet
I feel like this album was made to try and attract the most NPC metal listeners right now with its basic ambient moments and heavily produced riffs and breakdowns that sound very animatronic. I also feel that this album was made to attract the metal fans who hate pop music but will tolerate the dramatic and cringe singing across the record due to the overproduced breakdowns on it. Overall not the worst thing you'll hear, but if you don't like the state of radio metal now, then you ... read more
I don't want to be mean, but I feel like this song is just Unprocessed being too far into their own heads. Like it's trying its best to be as big and climatic as possible with the melodramatic singing, the orchestra string instruments, and the really fast, overproduced guitar chugging that is taxing on the ears. However, it just sounds annoying instead of legendary.
"Absolute Elsewhere" by Blood Incantation is an epic, diverse, and well paced ride that pushes the boundaries of metal in way that respects the genre's roots and still leaves it being a metal album. I could say more about this record, but I'd rather let people experience it for themselves. Highly recommended listening to this album even if progressive death metal isn't your thing as I think almost anyone could enjoy this album.
While "Laugh Tracks" isn't necessarily perfecting or breaking the metalcore genre, it's a metalcore album that shows a lot of riff and breakdown variety as Knocked Loose's debut album. The lyrics are also intricate and more clever than a majority of metalcore albums. The length of the project is appropriate to avoid it dragging and becoming too repetitive.
In my opinion, the memes and the lyrical parallel to Drake are why this song got any attention at all, because the song itself is so boring.
Just because the film this song was made for is rated PG didn't mean it had to sound like a cheap intro to a YouTube video made for kids
I was pretty impressed with this album as I was expecting to from listening to the singles for it. "Sanshi" both sounds very classic 80s death metal and modern death metal at the same time as it has the technicality of modern metal with the rawness of early death metal. It also hits that sweet spot where the album is both catchy and abrasive, which is hard to pull off in the genre. Each performer gets to shine and doesn't distract from other the parts and performances of the ... read more
