villagerrr - Tear Your Heart Out
76

really nice slacker-folk stuff

Lifeguard - Ripped and Torn
55

well-executed revivalism in terms of the production. but just nothing going melodically. just noise and distortion.

Fountains of Wayne - Fountains of Wayne
74

i yearn for a time when white boys were this quirked up

Peach Pit - Being so Normal
77

very enjoyable easy listening

The Scythe - Strictly 4 The Scythe
47

denzel has been going backwards for a few years now

Girl Scout - Brink
66

Picks up in the second half but generally far too conventional

Jonah Paz - Genuine Uppers Life
77

what is so sacred about these holes

kmoe - K1
79

this shit is like if jane remover and venturing combinded into one project. the good songs on this are damn near perfect but there are also some fat duds

Total Wife - Come Back Down
75

took me a couple of tries to get into this, but i feel like that’s a good thing. a really interesting mix of shoegaze sludge and glitchy distortion

James Blake - James Blake
78

i had no idea he started out so electronic. this showed all of his characteristic motifs and showcased his giant potential

James Blake - Trying Times

Racecourse - July, December

new favorite band unlocked

Darryl Rahn - Dusk
66

Really good background music. He has a perfect confection of a voice and some really pleasant fingerpicking. But it's almost so pleasant that it becomes boring

Various Artists - HELP(2)
81

Can't expect much more from a compilation album. Bonus points for charity. Always gonna sound good when James Ford is at the helm

slayr - Half Blood (BloodLuxe)
83

i think the best transitions i’ve ever heard in rap history. slayr and lucy really the only ones innovating in rage rap

slayr - Half Blood
85

This is everything that rage rap was supposed to be. Why did i wait so long to listen

Charli xcx - Wuthering Heights
76

For being a soundtrack, which I assume is mostly throwaways rather than tracks she wanted to release for her next ALBUM album, it’s wonderful. I just love the explosiveness of many of these tracks, she’s got such a knack for something that just goes BOOM CHORUS TIME! Explosions and catharsis and epic proportions! Boom!

Harry Styles - Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.
49

Similar thoughts on this as I had for Tame Impala’s Deadbeat. I thought the transition into synthed-up, ‘80s-inspired dance music was a natural progression for Harry, but holy moly these songs are lifeless. He really needs to get a lil crazy next time he drops a record, he’s become STERILE.

Vashti Bunyan - Just Another Diamond Day

fuckin lovely beautiful enchanted fairytale music

On The Belair Lip Bombs - Again
"@Kingzor Must listen to the debut! I strongly prefer that one but this new record is definitely more poppy and sharply produced. I really liked the heavier post-punk guitar and Maisie’s word-slurring delivery on the last album."
On cappyk's review of Porches - Je t'aime
"@cappyk fr i’ve been listening on repeat since it came out. also i just found out it’s a reissue from 2011. holds up perfectly i woulda believed it was from 2025"
On cappyk's review of Porches - Je t'aime
"I agree on every level. Je T’aime is one of the best songs of the year. His emotional turmoil saying “Je T’aime and I don’t care” is mirrored by the dense and cacophonous production. Truly beautiful"
