well-executed revivalism in terms of the production. but just nothing going melodically. just noise and distortion.
took me a couple of tries to get into this, but i feel like that’s a good thing. a really interesting mix of shoegaze sludge and glitchy distortion
i had no idea he started out so electronic. this showed all of his characteristic motifs and showcased his giant potential
Really good background music. He has a perfect confection of a voice and some really pleasant fingerpicking. But it's almost so pleasant that it becomes boring
Can't expect much more from a compilation album. Bonus points for charity. Always gonna sound good when James Ford is at the helm
i think the best transitions i’ve ever heard in rap history. slayr and lucy really the only ones innovating in rage rap
This is everything that rage rap was supposed to be. Why did i wait so long to listen
For being a soundtrack, which I assume is mostly throwaways rather than tracks she wanted to release for her next ALBUM album, it’s wonderful. I just love the explosiveness of many of these tracks, she’s got such a knack for something that just goes BOOM CHORUS TIME! Explosions and catharsis and epic proportions! Boom!
Similar thoughts on this as I had for Tame Impala’s Deadbeat. I thought the transition into synthed-up, ‘80s-inspired dance music was a natural progression for Harry, but holy moly these songs are lifeless. He really needs to get a lil crazy next time he drops a record, he’s become STERILE.
