The way this band showed so much promise at the start only to get duller and duller each step of the way following "The Resistance" is hard to explain. How? How do you lose the essence that made you unique. This band always had similarities to some of their peers but were still identifiable.

Quite underrated dad rock jam. Continues my collection of songs to impress les boomers. "The King Will Come" and "Throw Down the Sword" are bops.

It is just perfection. If moodiness had to be an album this would be it.
From the awesome instrumentation, to the great samples to Beth Gibbons' voice. Everything is so... well... (almost) perfect...
The turntable like static hissing fits great with the sound of this album, giving the album a subtle warmth.

Very very very average...
Some tracks try their hardest to break you free of the monotony of this album but the next track brings you back to the realty of this being as average as it is.
Also, how did they mess up the lyrics. " We are fucking fucked " is just a really bad hook.
I went in not expecting much due to seeing the reviews on this and I was still really disappointed.

Quite the good record. Not the best Post Punk record but still very strong.
It is though one of those records that the most popular tracks are the best ones.
