Great production and singing with some very creative song ideas and great songwriting. Pretty great project.
its rare for a deluxe edition of an album to contain only songs that could have been on the original but slayr really just is different like that. Same praise i had for the original album, just great music. The beats are so sugary and fun everything is so well done.
some cool ideas here and there but overall filled with baffling and amatuerish choices that definitely bring this down for me unfortunately. not horrible or unlistenable but pretty scattershot and needs work
very cool stuff with some nice samples and some very hard hitting bass. not like, insanely groundbreaking or anything but still a fun listen.
beats are pretty cool, vocals are... there... but they aren't like horribly unlistenable just you know... not... great... but the produciton is very nice.
Finally tapped in to slayr and... oh my god... i get it... Brilliant layered and emotive production, with great vocals that are clear and generally easy to understand, but do their job amazingly across the backdrop that the beats here create. The transitions between tracks are also amazing, just so much cool stuff this does that make it completely worth checking out. Amazing album.
I'll put my rating when I know whether or not the biggest issues get fixed later but for right now this has a lot of potential and especially the tracks up until like.... CIRCLES are all pretty decent and interesting. The lingering AI definitely needs to go and overall this album isn't anything like hugely groundbreaking but its decent for what it is. Definitely needs some fine tuning and given that every kanye album nowadays is basically a work in progress project im hoping he goes ... read more
[edit] yeah... relistening definitely makes the issues so much more prevalent... the highs are phenomenal but theres so much fat on here and Yeat's unique identity has mostly been erased, even on the songs I do like... sighhh
Yeat comes through with a real statement to make. Phenomenal, punchy beats with some great features and very creative ideas scattered around here and there make this a really fun album. Yeat's more introspective side coming through on the second half is really ... read more
its dark and its desolate i guess but it really makes me feel pretty much nothing unfortunately. For ambient music to work for me I need something to really latch on to but this didn't really have that for me. I guess its mostly competently made but really really not my thing.
very simple but very enjoyable set of songs with some well done production which is much more melodic than a lot of Marshall's other works, which I think works here to the project's favor. Pretty good.
It's alright, very standard ambient ngl but it's listenable. Idk not much to say on it.
seeing the classic yuno flow being used on a serious song is really funny but icl this actually is really well done. The lyrics are pretty interesting, and the beat is great. Excited to see if Yuno wants to go down a more serious road but even if he didn't that would be fine with me
As a longtime fan of trap metal, i love to see the genre get some recognition, ESPECIALLY when its this good. This album bridges the gap between a lot of different styles of rock and rap and it all works perfectly. The much more linear song structures and transitions make this feel like an ever moving concert where its on 100% all the time. Just a wonderfully creative and stylish project.
UPDATED REVIEW
Rav im so sorry we took this for granted you didn't have to get so much worse. but seriously on relisten this album is a lot better than I originally gave it credit for. The beats are spacey and have a nice vibe to them, and Rav's rapping is a lot better than I first thought and honestly fits well on a lot of these tracks. I'm even warming up to Agent Orange a bit (not enough to say its a good song) but overall a lot better than I thought on first listen.
Some great rock music with some very well done instrumentation and vocals that fit but aren't blow my pants off amazing. Pretty solid overall.
love the dancier tracks towards the start but as it goes on it starts to fall apart a bit for me. I am overall pretty uninterested by the more ambient stuff and when it tries to be more lush sometimes it works a bit but mostly falls flat for me.
honestly i might be in the minority here but i really think Rav is doing something pretty interesting here in a way that functions a lot more than his stuff in this style has in the past. Unlike his album with Kill Bill from 2024, the mixing here is serviceable, and Rav does different things with his voice here but its not anywhere near as grating as it was on that album. Subject matter is interesting and overall makes for a decent single.
great beat and the verses and chorus are also tight and pretty solid overall. decent.
a quite cool atmospheric dnb track with some very smooth, clean production. not bad.
