Moby's 'Play' is quite literally the signature sound of the turn of the millennium. What does the late '90s sound like? It's certainly not Britney Spears or the upbeat and cheesy Eurodance pop of Ace of Base. Moby's 'Play' sound like a technological revolution, a welcome to capitalism, office chill-out music, and a world of chrome, metal, and glass.
It's a production that seamlessly complements the ambiance of recently constructed malls, enhances the atmosphere of your corporate office's ... read more
This album is challenging; it's not easy to listen to, and it's definitely not the kind of thing you put on while cooking pasta on a lazy summer Saturday afternoon. I'll try to listen to it again at some point.
The Artpop era has passed, and this album has lost its flair. Did it ever have it? Was it ever exciting? I mean, back when Artpop was released, it had a significant fanbase on Tumblr. I'm not sure. I listened to this album again today for the first time since the last decade, and it's tacky. I understand the concept Gaga wanted to pursue. Artpop was the opposite of Born This Way. I don't know, but this album is just hard to listen to nowadays, except for a few tracks. But oh my god, ... read more
The combination of Timbaland and Nelly Furtado gives us a perfect harmony. I don't know what chemistry and magic are happening there, but their collaboration produces incredibly fruitful results. This album is underrated and timeless. If it were released today, it would sound just as great. Fantastic, unique, and tasty pop. I love it, they ate. It's a magnum opus.
I don't know. I think I'm not sad enough at this moment of my life to fully appreciate this album. 'A Means to an End' is a top-tier song. The rest is pretty mid. Sorry, guys.
Before George Clanton came up with the name of this album, he hit his head a few times. Along with the weirdest album title, one of the best albums of 2023 was created.
This album gives a feeling of floating in space; it's incredibly catchy and tasty. What a fantastic experience!!
This album literally just sounds like bees and things and flowers.
I thought Pacifica would have aged better. I look back on it fondly because it's one of my favorite albums from the last decade. However, listening to it again now, it's clear that this album is pretty average. It lacks some consistency.
Favorite songs: Ghosts, Surrender, Fast Seconds.
Moderat was the defining album of my teenage years. Unfortunately, I can't listen to it unironically anymore. Listening to Moderat feels like dating a mediocre man with a mustache and an owl tattoo in the middle of his chest. I can't embrace the full extent of this 2k9 aesthetic.
PS: Great production, don't worry about the fanbase.
