Overall a great album, but something was missing to make it as good as acid rap. As a "Christian" album, The Life of Pablo was much better, especially considering that both were released in the same year. Chance only won the Grammy that year because the media was against Kanye
Underrated.
I see that Drake tried something different here, it may not be something with a lot of meaning and depth, but it's an aesthetic with very good instrumentals for "summer nights", unfortunately it wasn't much worked and deepened to bring a more concise and coherent project.
I had to listen to this album 8 times to come up with a rating which may change. Not everyone will like it at first or even one day.
HYAENA starts the album with an insane banger that already prepares us for what's to come, and perfectly performs the role of an intro illustrating the aesthetic already in the first track.
THANK GOD is another great song that progresses into a divine beat switch with a feat from Stormi. The feat with KayCyy was good, I still see a lot of potential in him as an ... read more
I listened to it while waiting for the release of Utopia, so my rating for this, which I consider Travis' worst project, may be higher than most would rate it. I liked the chaotic sound that this mixtape, but the same year Yeezus was released, even though it doesn't have as much in common, takes that much further and executes it perfectly.
I found this whole trilogy very overrated, it's just not for me, it made me sleep so repetitive and dull.
The whole concept of this album can already be expressed starting with its cover, which is inspired by Pablo Picasso's cubist and abstract art to convey the idea of Kanye's multiple personas, Pablo Picasso being his artistic side, Pablo Escobar his sinful side, lust, nightlife away from God, and Saint Pablo his side of spirituality, family, faith and who wants to convey some greater message amid his artistic side, which contrasts with Escobar's persona. That's why the cover says WICH/ONE along ... read more
THE COLLEGE DROUPOUT UNTITLED UNMASTERED
This mixtape brings together unfinished versions of some of the classics from Kanye's debut album, others that never made it onto the album, some versions of songs from Blueprint. Highlight for Track Heart of the City (Ain't No Love) (MTV Unplugged).
For those who are Kanye West fans and have watched the Netflix documentary or know enough of his history, you will like this project, there is even an interlude of the audio from the show where ye and Jay-Z ... read more
This album has some value to me for having influenced the emergence of the rage subgenre and the careers of other artists to come, but I still think that Carti's influence was more significant. I can't give anything above 70 for any of Trippie's projects, I really don't understand all the appeal he has.
Since the moment it was announced that the album would have 26 tracks I knew it wouldn't be what I expected, Uzi overextends itself bringing songs with no sense as covers of songs from other genres already established or imitating their flow trying to make an unjustified reference. The metal songs may not be bad, but in the Werewolf example, the track doesn't sound like Uzi but like Bring Me The Horizon, other songs more on the trap metal side also don't sound like Lil Uzi Vert songs. In The ... read more
The members of Opium have some difficulty in releasing an album with a normal amount of tracks, either it has more than 20 songs and more than 1 hour long, or they release an album of less than 30 minutes. In the case of this album, if it had 30 minutes it could be good, I would keep the first 8 songs and the 5 added on the deluxe album and discard the rest.
It took me a long time to rate this album because it has no new songs and is only a live album, but the version of some of the best songs from Kanye's first two albums brought here are very good with this orchestral tone. It's great to have a version on Spotify that conveys that feeling of being in a live concert of his with a good audio quality.
O cara sabia fazer músicas de drill mais pesado como Dior, e no mesmo projeto lançar For The Nights e What You Know About Love.
