"Concert for You" made me cry so hard I almost started drowning
Imagine Dragons transitions into a more pop-oriented sound for the second chapter of Mercury. The first half was kinda bad, with one song I actually genuinely like, and another which I despise with a passion (Sharks and Higher Ground, respectively). The other nine tracks (and Enemy I guess) felt like a slog to get through since most of them boil down to "sad acoustic guitar song", or "sad piano song (WiTh A cLiMaX)". Like, was Alex unable to keep that emotion to one or two ... read more
I almost never listen to genres this extreme, but surely they could have at least tried to give these tracks some individuality.

I've never really listened to Black Sabbath that much with an exception to some of their popular songs, and now that I have I can say that this album is amazing. I was already liking what I heard of theirs. Crazy to think that this stuff would technically lead to Grindcore, Death Metal, and other extreme metal genres.
Rest in Peace, Ozzy Osborne, you will be missed.
Right as I complement Outsider for being less cheesy than its predecessor, out comes a cornfest! Sometimes these lyrics just loop a bit because IDK. Perhaps they just lost interest in writing. And I really do not like this production; modern-sounding mixing is super hit or miss for me. Take a wild guess where it leaned for me here.
Okay, I'm being a bit more pissed than I really am, though I still stand by my points. At its worst, Explosions is whiny and obnoxious, and at its best, ... read more
This is probably their most experimental album yet. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I was initially expecting this to be mostly on the same level of altogether mediocrity as Curb, considering the EP starts with the latter's two worst tracks. Afterwards however, we get more of the old-style Nickelback to inspect, and yeah they're pretty good. I'm still holding the score down because of "Where?" and "Window Shopper", but this might be their best release before they blew up.
Also I just realized how much Label-less Niclelback had the ... read more

Someone in the comments said this would be the type of album cover to get an 80 or 40 with no possibility of being in between. Funny how when people say stuff like this, the thing in question is "objectively" middle of the road.
Anywho, what do I think about Nostalgia? I think Nostalgia is kinda good. Of course though, "FINGER" really feels like a random joke when it's not and most of the other tracks on the laters are notably weaker.

I was ghost-pinged while giving this masterpiece a rating
It was all pretty good... except that couple of later tracks.
This just sounds kinda generic and gets to sounding same-y by the end, but it's nothing really bad (minus track 8). One thing I'm not a fan of is how Billy Armstrong overuses profanity for the sake of being edgy. Sometimes empty, sometimes uninspired, yet there's some likable tunes within the dent.

Tracks of music like to experiment with what style the band would want to go with. The way 311 does it is super fun and captivating. You can tell they're really excited to finally release an album.

Napalm Death holds none of their punches towards Capitalism and Conformity. Scum was recorded with two different lineups, which is crazy. Side A is pretty good with its heavy riffs and horsepower drumming. Absolute bangers like the title-track and "Siege of Power" really show the direction they want to go in. Even the record-breakingly short song "You Suffer" (which I think is a great end to Side A) is genuinely amazing. Once you touch B for bee, you can instantly tell this ... read more
I never thought a live performance at an irregular place (let alone the catacombs of Paris) could be this good.
You can tell that the band was on its last legs when this was in the works. Their's nothing too special about "Let It Be", with a few exceptions such as the title track and "Across the Universe". Fortunate that the Beatles still went out with a bang, even with their drift-away.
