I really love the production value on this and even though it's really memorable I guess it's just not quite up there for me, I mean I still think it deserves a lot of praise ofc but yeah :P

I'm genuinely at a loss for words
How can an idea so simple and seemingly stupid turn out to actually sounds EXTREMELY good, it genuinely feels like I'm listening to a post-punk classic from the 80s
This album really just shows you that there is not limit to good music, it can sometimes be hidden in plain sight, and that's something that's been inspiring me a LOT lately

While it does lack some depth, this album is just really pretty and nice to listen to. It's hard to really form an opinion about Sewerslvt's work for me because of just how depressing everything surrounding her is and then all kinds of controversy on top of that, but I know that I really love this album even if I can't form as much of a personal connection with it

Twin Resurrection - VOLUME 1
64

It's quite small and humble but it is genuinely just a really good vibe! Dancefloor Theatrics and ESPECIALLY Club Donnie Thornberry specifically evoke a really nostalgic feeling in me. It's really cool to see artists explore other medium considering the guy behind this is mostly an animator, so yeah just really well done

Guided by Voices - Universe Room

It's decent, in this long streak of GBV basically just making albums for fun and not really trying to make anything special his album is just perfectly decent and inoffensive. I do like them keeping some lo-fi elements here and there but overall it just kinda washed over me. I have absolutely no real negative feelings towards it though

pilotredsun - Achievement
100

There is something so weirdly personal about this album. The first track greets you and the last track thanks you for listening, the album itself is literally an "achievement" and the album cover looks like a hand drawn cozy but humble home with a cake as a reward for.. someone.

I love pretty much every song on this record, I've always admired pilotredsun as an artist, but with this album he does something quite different compared to his animations. His animations are often ... read more

While not the best they can do, this record still contains that psychedelic yet slow and simple sound that I've come to absolutely adore.

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew

This album is definitive proof that I just cannot get into Miles Davis :c

Sigur Rós - Ágætis byrjun

music you hear when you in da womb

The Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs

This rating counts for the album when experienced in its entirety, but there's something a lot more fascinating about it if you start to pick it apart.

The Magnetic Fields have basically created a perfect album, but this perfect album is personal to the person who listens, and can only be picked out by them. When I take my favorite tracks from this album and arrange them into an actual playlist, that could be basically be considered a double album of 1h20m long, where I really enjoy every ... read more

I LOVE DIY MUSIC
While some of these do end up feeling a little undercooked because of this there's definitely a lot of good on this record, especially the first three songs make a full listen worth it already!

Boards of Canada - Geogaddi

more sinister and low-key compared to the previous album, it doesn't have nearly as high of highs but it is extremely consistent

FKA twigs - EUSEXUA
72

Kind of wish Eusexua and Drums of Death remained one song like in the music video, it feels especially weird to have Eusexua be the opener considering it just feels so much like the end of a progression. Still a great album though :D

I don't know how I'm even gonna write this review

I've always been very fascinated by mental health struggles and the darkest pits of the mind, possibly because I have often found myself there or because it's just something I have been interested in since childhood for some reason.

This is why musicians who dare to travel to these dark places and express it in a raw manner have often been some of my favorites, take Xiu Xiu, Phil Evernum and even STOMACH BOOK for example. ... read more

harmonica is so underrated

Simon & Garfunkel - Sounds of Silence

Honestly I don't have much to say it's just really fun and The Sound of Silence is goated ofc

85

I do kinda feel like it lacks a bit in actual substance but agghhh it just sounds so awesome

Talk Talk - Laughing Stock
84

After the Flood ABSOLUTELY steals the show for me, it's still an extremely serene experience but I just can't quite enthrall myself in it nearly as much as with After the Flood

Aphex Twin - Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / in a room7 F760

Honestly really like the vibe Richard went for here, he def won't reach the peaks of his classic days anymore but for an EP this was a really fun listen

lua trilogy! - 新世紀 Sunbelt Princess

Love how it almost feels like a more ethereal and magical GBYE, though the sample choices can kind of combat that vibe.
I also feel like the album can be a bit unpolished or awkward in certain areas, especially with the last 2 minutes of the whole project.
Still found myself enjoying it a LOT, lots of beautiful sounds and honestly the drums are especially amazing and are so pleasing to the ears.

"@AsaTalks there's amazing, long instrumental albums out there (Aphex Twin SAW II), but this isn't one of them. It's still quite enjoyable but it doesn't do enough to really take me into the vibe, causing me to get really tired of it after about an hour and 15 minutes."
