very smooth and warm, it's quite an enjoyable listen and it's interesting to see how progressive and even ahead of his time Marvin Gaye was
first and foremost the title track is SUPER underrated, probably one of the best on the EP and sets such an insanely unnerving mood while still being super interesting on its own. This EP honestly just drove me insane but in the best way possible, I did kind of feel like it started slogging with the last three tracks though, but it's an amazing project nonetheless
It's pretty harmless and fun, I was especially surprised with some of synth work being really amazing on this record. I do have to say however that it's hard to stay very entertained with this kind of music for an hour long, the biggest drawback for me is just how this album is kind of bloated, some songs could've definitely been cut.
I really dig the vibe of this album and get what they were going for, but the production and vocals just make it sound kinda weird to me and get in the way of my enjoyment
Will always be insane to me that he just died 2 days after releasing this, it's as if releasing this amazing work was his last mission and once he had done so the gods finally decided he had done well and let him go
This album is so consistent that it makes it hard to really compare it and be able to know how much I really like it
Trippy production, this is the kind of music that just feels like the internet, I don't know how to describe it. It was pretty inconsistent, I found myself kind of bored in the first third but luckily the album picked it up from there, especially in the middle with things like God Made You a Monster and Skeletrix Island
As someone who kinda struggles getting into older hip hop, this was just a really fun record for nearly its entire run. You really get a sense of community and culture that you wouldn't really find in any other genres
One of the most basement-y albums I've ever heard, and no I can't explain what the fuck I mean with this
There's just such a strange allure to this album, even with just the cover and title. It's power is so strange and raw, yet still I can't explain why. It's a very conflicting experience but I would love to experience it for the first time again
I'd say it's a good vibe, nothing that piques my interest really but it's nice to put on and relax to
If there was one word I'd use to describe this album, it would be "iconic"
It REALLY feels like they wanted to say something with this record, and it shows. I love the way the tracks are divided into an intro, outro and 3 opuses, I also feel like I enjoyed this a lot more overall compared to other Pink Floyd records
This album has taken more than a year to grow this much on me. It recently just suddenly clicked. This is probably the most unique aesthetic gbv has had, and while Bee Thousand and Alien Lanes are of course their all time greats, this still feels like a magnum opus of sorts. I think that's mostly because of the fact this is their only actual concept album, it has the most unique sound in their whole catalogue as I mentioned earlier, and it also just feels so consistent and put together ... read more
The way these guys take the instruments they have and make some of the most chaotic, unsettling and just creative records I have ever heard is absolutely insane. I fucking wish they made more than one album, because they have so much talent.
