the first half is so yummy but it does kind of lose its power in the second. However it can definitely be considered a great GBV record
Very consistent and there were some bits I really loved, it just didn't do enough to enthrall me into it fully. Maybe it just needs more time to grow on me? I'll keep listening to it for a while probably
Subtly gripping you into the trauma David Bowie endured during these times, Low shows very well how creative Bowie can get. I love the fact this album is basically divided into the main half and an ambient half, with both being pretty much equal in both quality and style.
Just one of the best intros to an album ever, every time I start listening I can already feel how insane and impactful this album will be (even though it didn't end up being THAT impactful)
Some really artful sounds on here. It isn't really something I can really get into but in general it's still a really enjoyable experience
Little bursts of sounds that come together to create groovy and chaotic energy. It sounds so silly but is really intricate and well thought out, along with the fact that this record covers some themes that are quite ahead of its time. Nothing less than a masterpiece
You can feel the humidity of the landscape through the music. This album is a tropical and grandiose adventure and I am in love with it.
A very consistent and nice experience, and ahead of its time as well!
But I have to admit it seems I don't really get the grand appeal Pink Floyd seems to have, their music is really sweet but I don't see how it tops the charts
Going into this I wasn't really expecting trip hop as a genre to really be my thing. Well, color me surprised! I've really never heard anything like this before, the instrumentation is minimalistic yet broody, the sounds are hypnotic and heavy and I just can't help myself but be pulled into it. It's not something you would really "jam out" to, it's more an experience that you feel yourself slowly sink into, and I'll def keep coming back to it here and ... read more
I don't know what to say, I used to like it but not have much to say about it but I think this might genuinely be becoming my favorite album of all time, what.
This is really one of those whole experience is a lot better than the sum of its parts. I'm a very big fan of the themes and songwriting in here. Hell, I think I might even like the overarching story of this album more than the Glow Pt. 2 (though the album in itself isn't quite comparable to it)
I feel like a lot of the tracks being so long doesn't really work that well for the album, especially in the second half. Regardless, it's still an amazing experience and I'll definitely be replaying Tekka and Fruitcake and Cookies quite a bit :P
