This album kind of feels like a representation of how the world was seemingly collapsing throughout 2020s, and how while we know that bad shit happens all the time it really feels more overwhelming than before. Also of course the production is just some of the all time best
I find it hard to rate game soundtracks considering how much the experience is tied to the game itself
This is one of those once in a lifetime kind of albums, really love how unique and creative it is, though it does kinda fall off towards the second half
Absolute masterpiece, pretty much everything in here is perfect, and it also tackles depression/suicidal thoughts in such an amazing way. I also only recently realised that the title most likely refers to how Vi is spilling her guts in this album, telling her story
It's definitely the most subtle and probably not even that intentionally meaningful Lemon Demon album, but good god I really think this is an extremely profound record, even when half of the songs are just for fun and don't have much of a deeper meaning to look into. This is Lemon Demon's real magnum opus, but I admit that Spirit Phone is the best one in the end
CRIMINALLY underrated, this album captures childhood wonder even more than Dinosaurchestra, even if it's not always as obvious
I know it's really annoying how this album seems to make a lot of Neil's other albums be very much overlooked, but god does literally every single track on here cause me to dance and nerd out. No one can make catchy music like Neil does, it's just in his genes.
Such a humble and sweet little album, it doesn't feel me with as much nostalgia as it used to but I still love it!
One of Guided by Voices' holy grails, these guys put the "slacker" in slacker rock. Absolutely jam packed with relatively small ideas that are processed with some absolutely astounding sound textures thanks to the low recording quality
While not as beautifully depressing as A Promise, but this was the most visceral and brutal experience I have ever had with an album
A really compelling experience, I didn't really feel that invested in most of the tracks but I really like how this feels like a snapshot of the adolescent life of late 90s/early 2000s New York, and I really respect a lot of the creative decisions made.
Although I have to admit, if this whole album was more like Lazy Confessions, it would have managed to be a 10 in my opinion ;P
I adore how this album handles heavy topics yet still keeps an overall positive and tropical vibe.
Also the last part of Orchids makes me cry every time grahhhh
While nothing here is truly mindblowing (except for Xtal!!!) this album creates such a vibe that u will basically never be bored while listening, and it feels like it bores itself into your mind.
