The supergroup continue their garage rock adventures with another banger of an album. Versatile as ever and as well produced and performed as their previous album.
I work in advertising, and this is exactly the sort of song I would use for a garage advert. Not bad but very mid
Like many, I loved this album but the songs were just too short to feel fully-formed. A couple couple have been twice the length they actually were. Still superb, though
An essential singer-songwriter/pop rock cut containing some of the biggest tunes from this era of music. The album flows really well from start to finish, never feeling boring and always showing a new side to Nilsson's musicianship.
One of the best-produced albums of all time.
But it is more than that. The songs themselves are superb with a handful being absolute perfection. This is one of the greatest prog pop albums of all time and is Alan Parsons Project at their peak
This album is my go-to when I feel like crap and want something to brighten my day and blow my socks off. Deerhoof have such a unique sound and (in my opinion) show off that skill best in this record. Look away is pretty creepy, though, compared to the rest of the album
Kiwanuka holds a special place in my heart for being one of the albums that introduced me to modern music outside of rock. This is one of the greatest psych/soul albums ever and it opened me up to a whole new world of music. Amazing from start to finish.
Once again, I don't understand the hate that Hotel California has gained from a lot of people. The title track is one of the greatest songs of all time and whilst the rest of the album doesn't succeed to reach that level again, this is still a very enjoyable record with some great highlights throughout.
Negative reviews make me sad. This isn't Hotel California, but it's still a superb country rock album with some amazing highlights. Definitely worth a listen for any aspiring country rock fan
If you had never heard any punk rock before, you would probably love this, but for me, it just lacks a bit of originality.
There are a number of good tracks here but I still feel like the performances aren't as strong as Green Day's earlier material with Dirnt's performances in particular feeling a bit uninspired. Maybe that's to avoid making it obvious that tracks like Goodnight Adeline is just When I Come Around but boring.
It's a partial return to form for a band that hasn't had any form ... read more
Is it extremely commercialised stadium rock? But it does what it does very well. Catchy hooks, soaring vocals and melodic guitar, synth and organ solos come together to make something that's definitely over-hated in my eyes. It's good fun, if you don't take it seriously.
Royal Blood vibes but in drop B. Pretty decent but would love to hear those vocals with a bit of fry
Starts off well but I got bored quickly. Lacks variation to a fault. Every song kinda sounds like the last one.
Whilst there are some moments of mediocrity on this record, it is for the most part, a masterpiece in ambient pop. Amazing production, complete with glitchy synths, vocal chops and amazing, angelic vocal leads. If it wasn't for the mid-album slump, my rating would be much, much higher
Giles learned what a compressor is on this remix and used it... A lot
