Pony is a classic, and the rest is good but drag on for a bit too long.

This may be a hot take… but I do think this is Iron Maiden’s 2nd worst album. To start off, the album has zero replay value. There is not a song on here that doesn’t drag on. There isn’t really much reasoning to have multiple songs over 10 minutes long, and it’s not like they are crazy good like SAMIDOT by Kendrick or ROTAM by themselves. The lyrics are varied, some of them are really good but I honestly found them to be unnecessary edgy. I understand that the ... read more
A post Seventh Son album that’s good!? Are we sure that this is REALLY 2010’s Maiden?
Fav: Empire of the Clouds
Worst: The Man of Sorrows
The Alchemist getting shout outs from Iron Maiden now,
love to see it.
Yeah, they keep getting midder as they go farther.
Fav: When the Wild Wind Blows

Another Iron Maiden album post Seventh Son that most people like but I think is mid. My reasoning for this is the same for their last album, Dance of Death. It’s boring af and the instrumentals don’t hold a candle to the original while trying its hardest to sound like them. I do think the song writing is really good on here tho. This is definitely the highest quality post Seventh Son project form them, and also was a bigger hurdle to jump over then it seemed.

They are NOT Captain America ðŸ˜
Seriously though, I don’t really get why other like this so much. To me, it’s a breath of fresh air after Virtual XI. But also it’s just something pretty good and not something that put Iron Maiden back on the map for a goated album streak like the one they had originally.

Nothing here really stands out, but also nothing that is objectively terrible. I mean, the instrumentals are good still, but the lyrics feel like they were forced in. It’s like they were making some good instrumental metal and realized they HAD to have lyrics in here. Not saying it’s better off without it just that the lyrics don’t sound good and feel rushed in.

Iron Maiden just making one of their best outros a challenge by having you listen to a bloat load of mid. I mean some songs are good, but it gets boring after a couple of tracks.
Fav: Fear of the Dark
Worst: Weekend Warrior
It’s got its moments, but there is a flood of 4 minutes mid tracks on here. Pretty big step down on every level.

The last great Iron Maiden album before they went through a slump of mid albums. And well… it is indeed a great Iron Maiden album. The thing is: I don’t have a reason to come back to any of these songs on their own, I’d only really listen to them all together. If I was to listen to them on their own, I would question myself on why I’m not listening to their better tracks because they just stand put and sound better. I still like all the tracks here, just don’t ... read more
Holy underrated. This has arguably the best lyrical showcase from Iron Maiden. Now, it doesn’t do everything else that the last 3 or 4 albums they made better, but dammit that is a hard hurdle to jump over.

My second favorite Iron Maiden album. Slightly worst than The Number of the Beast. Idk how to really explain how great this is, it just checks all the boxes an amazing metal album should.

This is an album I definitely need more time with. I love how much emotion is being put into here, but I also just see this as a worse Cilvia Demo. Not saying it is just like that album, but it contains similar elements that don’t help this album stand out. Zay’s writing on here doesn’t miss here tho. At worst it’s pretty good, and at best it’s one of his best written songs ever. Probably not worth the wait, but dammit I’m still satisfied.

Really good lo fi rap production. Zay still got his lyricism on here, but this album had a lot of forgettable moments for me.
Fav: Shot You Down
Worst: Brad Jordan
Easily Zay’s most forge project. It’s not bad by any means, I’d say it’s overall a pretty good album. It’s just that the only song I go back to here is Headshots and comparing this to his previous album, The Sun’s Tirade, I start to question what happened here that made this such a huge stepdown.
Fav: Headshots (4r Da Locals)
Worst: 9-3 Freestyle
God everything Isaiah does on this album is so good! His flow is amazing, great lyrical skills shown, and the production is so smooth and pairs so well with Zay’s rapping! The only criticism I really have with this album is that A lot and the outro are a little forgettable.

It’s hard to follow up peak, but they somehow managed to do a really good job with it by releasing Piece of Mind. Piece of Mind is another great Iron Maiden album in their golden age, what else would you expect it to be?
