not related to this album I want to say that their cover of Tightrope is a far more egregious example of the "soul-less white cover" than Taylor Swift's September.
Got to be honest and say "Sunbathing Animal" made me want to never listen to a Parquet Courts album ever again. I get that minimalism was the aesthetic, but it didn't make the songs particularly good. By no means a cure to the fact that they've been making the same record over and over since 2010 - just a particularly well-written set of songs in the style you already know (and maybe love if you're, y'know, still acting like you're in college despite being in your mid-30s).

So obviously the two big talking points of this record with respect to her previous material are:
1. The songs are shorter
2. Stylistically it's all over the place
