Bro Fueled By Ramen actually killed them. This song is actually so bad it's unlistenable.
Why does one of my favourite bands have to fall off THIS HARD. It pains me to give it a 0.
The lyrics are so bad, and the instrumental is so boring and way overproduced.
I'm sorry ADTR, but please listen to the feedback next time.
Did NOT go into this expecting to like it.
I do love me some rap/hip hop here and there, but most of the OG stuff, I'm not really into the modern Opium stuff that keeps getting rehashed. So this was a nice break.
The atmosphere is epic as hell and the lyrics on every. single. song. are positively spectacular.
Looking forward to hearing more from this project, really really blown away first listen.
Bruh what happened?
It's like they took all the raw emotion, anger, and aggression from their first two albums, and replaced it with the most generic autotuned boring ass choruses with the same old verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure. I guess this is where it all fell apart for them.
Whether it breaks the self-promo rule or not, this is actually really damn good. Always loved seeing Remi's reviews under quite literally everything but I didn't know he made music too!
Really good record. Not really what I'd expect to hear from TOP because I've really only heard the "big" songs, but this was a pleasant surprise. There are some beautiful moments and some angry moments, and throughout it's all tastefully done!
I don't have too many complaints about this album other than the drum production. I think I heard they recorded live drums for it, so that might be why, but the snare is so buried in the mix and it lacks punch and body. Maybe I'm just picky though.
Vocals significantly improved for sure, and I think the only thing that I actually dislike is the beginning of the interlude Aether, because it's just so random and then there's a South Park sample for some reason- leave the wackiness to BMTH's new ... read more
I'm done pretending on this, this is genuinely pretty bad!
EDIT 2: 35-->10, this somehow got even worse
EDIT: 50-->35, this got so much worse as I relistened
Great ideas at play, horrendous execution. Not to mention the production is iffy asF
EDIT 2: 86-->45, lowkey the vocals are pretty bad sometimes which takes away from the enjoyability of this here thang
EDIT: 100-->86
Relistened and all the songs get dragged out way too long. There are sometimes when the outro is used creatively like Spherica, but the random synthwave at the end of Heaven doesnt seem like it serves a purpose and is just there to be there. And the piano outro in It Is Finished is a nice touch, but six minutes of it? Cmon man.
Guest vocals REALLY bring the song down, but Devon's vocals are as brutal as ever.
Feel like the chorus overstays its welcome a bit, but solid solid nonetheless
I feel like this album gets progressively worse. Darkbloom is such a perfect song and then the album goes way downhill.
