Some of my favorite songs of all time can be found on this project. I'm sad to say that I find the majority of this album to be somewhat forgettable, yet far from bad. It has a really nice soundscape and progression throughout.
Favorites: Surface, Left, Flares

EDIT 6/14:
After revisiting this project an absurd amount of times, I can conclude that it is nearly perfect. Not a single bad song, or I'd even say moment. Awesome progression and soundscapes from ... read more
Porter Robinson took over seven years between his genre-changing debut album (Worlds) and Nurture. And after listening to the latter, you can see why. Nurture wouldn't be as incredible as it is without Porter being able to compile all of his emotions from that seven-year span, which he details in the album's description on Apple Music. To summarize, he dealt with a lack of confidence in his music, helping his brother through surviving cancer, and developing a relationship with his ... read more
Thug's part was pretty awful, specifically the melody of it, but Future did pretty good.
RUSHMERE is an album that is sure to put you in a good mood. However, I enjoyed the first half more than the second.
Despite its inconsistency, RUFFS is another undeniably great project from innovative Atlanta rap/rock artist Kenny Mason.

also SHELL is overrated I’m sorry but DRACULA is pretty similar and so much better
A fun mixtape with high quality production and quite a few solid tracks. The last 454 project I listened to was Fast Trax 3, and I can definitely say this is a step up from that mixtape.
Considering how much I love Ken's prior LP "A Great Chaos," this was pretty disappointing. Some songs sound overly inspired by OsamaSon, while others sound like worse versions of tracks from AGC. I still like Ken's style so this wasn't the worst album of all time or anything, but I was expecting a lot more. That said, this album is continuously growing on me, and I find myself revisiting a few songs frequently.

While the SABLE half of this LP is pretty average, the second half is nothing but good vibes and high quality.
#20/286 album, top 7%
#8/161 rap album top 5%
Just like "Die Lit," this album took a bit to grow on me, but now I understand its purpose fully. It's meant to be similar to an early-2010s Atlanta mixtape with its strange structuring and DJ callouts. It was also a nice touch to sample an Atlanta classic, that being Bend Over by Rich Kidz, in LIKE WEEZY. I've found myself enjoying even some of the weaker tracks as time goes on, and at this point I only skip two songs of the ... read more

Something about this project just clicks with me. After experiencing some loss in the past few months, the themes of this album resonate with me quite strongly. Unlike other albums that center around chill styles of rock, each song doesn't overstay its welcome. It's hard to put into words, but Sunset Funeral is just a whole other kind of energy.

Jane Remover's albums always take time to grow on me, so I feel like this rating of 92/100 (7 points below Census Designated and 8 below Frailty) is more than likely to change. Revengeseekerz didn't make me love Jane's music any more than I already do, but it further solidified her role as my personal favorite musician. The way she's able to jump from genre to genre, incorporating influence from her other side projects such as Venturing and Leroy, ... read more
This new album from 2hollis has its moments, but I was mostly left feeling disappointed after the near-perfect LP that was 2024's "boy" (I rated that one 99/100). "star" maximizes on consistency over the high highs that prior 2hollis records brought, specifically 2, and I felt like there were no misses on this project. That being said, it was hard for me to find standouts other than "nerve," which is quickly becoming one of my favorite songs to release this ... read more
A step up from florence fields, putting kurtains’ versatility on display. I wish this project was longer, but there’s nothing but quality in these fifteen minutes.
May It Never Falter is an expressive album, displaying glaive's maturity over a handful of creatively produced tracks, with varying vocal styles which are generally done quite well.

While there are some basic mistakes such as the vocal mixing and tracklist arrangement, monthmai's debut album has high-quality production of great variety, and lets the listener know that monthmai is having fun with his music.
Favorites: Aidens Downfall, Ghosts, Here We Go, At The Top
Least Favorite: 9GS
A significant improvement on his prior "Those Days" album, monthmai brings eleven short yet exciting tracks to the table here. While there are still some mixing errors throughout, the flows are smoother than ever, and monthmai's bizarre wordplay works well with his creative beat selection. I'm not a fan of the features, but they aren't very common luckily. If monthmai continues to improve at this rate, he's bound to make a great album sooner rather than ... read more
