weird rock music, I think it's pretty sweet
least: angor (too repetitive but it's still fye)
idgaf, one of the best rap albums EVER
I love peggy, I knew he was flames the moment I heard him on MLS when song machine dropped, most of his albums are apart of the best albums in the fucking hip hop genre, I might review the rest on this website later
PEGGY THE GOAT
fave: damn near the whole album
least: UNTITLED
at first I didn't trust RiTchie and Parker's vision with a couple of the singles (Zig Zag and In My Town) but when the full thing released I got it almost instantly, I also loved how it's not only just a debut, it's an expansion of what's next after the final Injury Reserve album.
faves: Dead Weight, Grapefruit, In My Town, track 6-8
least: Zig Zag
would've been one of my favorites if she kept and boosted this energy up and not be awful
favorites: all are fire just wish it had more
I was 10 when I first found this one, because I found it in an article about how Damon was taking a quick break from Gorillaz to focus on this band, really great songs, kinda messy but that's not an completely bad thing
faves: track 3-5 (nineteen seventeen is one of the best Damon songs oat idk why I love it), Twilight, Last Man
least: Ribbons
Rest in peace to Tony Allen
this was the first underscores album I listened to, her and Jean Dawson had me in a chokehold back in 2023, great hyperpop, glitch, and indie rock sounds, this is great, and a start to a beautiful ass discography, I would start here if you are new to her music, worth the marathon up to U
favorites: 70%, SHE, 2006, wdyf, Spolied, 2001 (2nd half), Del
least: bozo
better than Fishmonger fosho
favorites: track 1-4, tounge in cheek
least: loansharks (it's alright)
long as fuck but amazing!
shout out to my homies Larry and amicita for putting me on to underscores back in 2023, this pop rock fictional town that takes place in Michigan called wallsock tells a story of 3 girls and their struggles in it, it not only captures amazing storytelling through it's songwriting but it's glamorous and fantastic production, even though it's supposed to be an ARG it feels like a movie or a limited series in album form
April is definitely one of the ... read more
decent, feels like one of those good demo tapes on a CD or on Untitled, overall a good Ye album, his best since V1 (even though i hated some of his performance in it for obvious reasons)
I hope Yeezy continues on his healing journey and continues to find a heart with love instead of hatred
favorites: KING, FATHER, PUNCH DRUNK, BULLY, MAMA'S FAVORITE, WHITE LINES, BATB
least: tf happened to CIRCLES
why does the goddamn instrumental sounds like one of those drug commercials mentioning every side effect under the sun while showing an actor living their best life, also please stop making music Tom, you are a disgrace to not only music but God themself
“Rap is just one of my fetishes like a dragon that’s pregnant” bar of the goddamn century
favorites: Ten Ten, Mountain, Plastic, SOHO, Calabasas
least: the rest
while i used to glaze this album more than i should’ve when i was 12-14, i still appreciate Jaden for buliding his alter egos around his sound, videos (this nigga needs to stop gatekeeping music videos and flexing them at concerts), and storytelling that i still find interesting to this day, one of the main problems i have with this album is the length of these fucking tracks, or some of these corny ass lyrics i found tuff back in the day
also some of these songs, like Pain’s 2nd ... read more
this album is like if Pharrell, Chad, And Shay decided to make a Gorillaz album, and i love it!
i always thought this album was cool, picking up some Dance Punk combined with Hip Hop tunes to create songs with a great message
like DDDI being based off Keith Scott (may he rest in peace), DDBT being a shot at the shithead president, SLOT telling people to embrace our generation instead of pushing against it and more along the record
fun album, i hope Pharrell and Chad could become brothers ... read more
this was the first Gorillaz rollout i experienced and it was fun as hell, random interviews and qnas with the band, memes, and the fandom coming back stronger now they know their favorite band is back!
for the album, it really does an outstanding job at it’s end of the world club soundtrack concept, you get to party with not only the lovable 4, but also Vince Staples, Pusha T, Kail Uchis, De La Soul, Peven Everett, DRAM, Danny Brown, and even more in this mix of Electropop, Hip Hop, Neo ... read more
this album is where Tyler starts to find his journey into who he is today, everyone hates on this album but let me say it, i LOVE it, down to it’s funny ass bars to it’s chaotic production and mixing, you can tell he was trying to navigate his sound and have fun rather than create something that other people wants to hear, i hate how people say “nothing good came from this album” but how the fuck do you listen to PILOT without turning up, not floating to Kail’s ... read more
i remember listening to this for the first time on my way to work, it was also the day before my birthday, when Weird Fishes played i couldn’t stop playing the album for weeks.
In Rainbows is their best album next to KID A, putting Electronic influences on Art Rock, Beautiful vocal performances from the lead singer, Thom Yorke, sometimes i like to sing along to Nude in the shower! only problem i have is WHY DID THESE NIGGAS PICK FAUST ARP OVER DOWN IS THE NEW UP, THAT SHIT WAS THE WORST ... read more
the first Radiohead album i listened to after y e a r s of hating, which was last year
i feel like this album is great but definitely not their best, one thing they know how to do is make melancholic and sad tunes but still find a way to make you bop your head and dance (definitely for In Rainbows) this album is great but i feel like their next one after this (KID A) is 10 times better
favorites: track 1-4, Karma Police, No Surprises, The Tourist
least: Let Down (i love the synth in the back ... read more
the best out of the Classic 3 Gorillaz Albums, even though it had difficulties behind it’s development for not only the album but the entirety of phase 3, Damon and Jamie did provide us with a beautiful album, beautiful music videos, and especially good ass writing with Murdoc and 2D thanks to Cass Browne (come back at least for one more phase my nigga)
going from synthpop, and Hip Hop, to world music on this album is a crazy jump but it pays off really well, which gorillaz does ... read more
this album and it’s rollout carried my 2020, this is also maybe my favorite gorillaz era, song machine succeeds on bringing something new to the table on each track, amazing and unique features, experimenting with multiple genres like dance on Opium, Bossa Nova on Désolé, G Funk on Pac Man and the list goes on and on!
even throughout the rollout we learned not only about the music, just what Gorillaz like to do in their spare time, go on fun bike rides, Noodle hanging out ... read more
