one of the most instrumentally and emotionally intense songs of the year :)
last track name is an accurate depiction of every person forced to listen to this sludgefest
after four months, i'm still waiting for it to be on spotify. this is such a good ambient song i can'tttttttttt
don't understand why it's rated so low.
chorus is catchy
but the lyrical content? kinda whiny.
very influential album that set the tone of trap music in the modern era. in my opinion, it has a lot of Travis’s best songs (90210, ok alright, maria im drunk, oh my dis side, 3500, antidote, etc.). this is a complete body of art, and this album is probably in the top 3 trap records of all time
listening to this album right now, its a straight vibe tf. will update when finished but for now...
edit: just finished. i appreciate the skits, but i do feel like it might be a little overwhelming at times. still wall to wall quality though.
87 -> 88
another edit: 88 -> 83. still amazing.
the production goes off, and the highs on this album are insane, even if as a whole, it's a little inconsistant at times. fear and duckworth are arguably top 5 kendrick for me. i really wished he trimmed like, a third of the tracklist off.
this is trash. why is this popular. why did we let this happen. this has been the biggest disappointment ever since dance monkey was hot.
this is one of the most unhinged mainstream pop songs i’ve ever heard. still great tho.
rare occasion where the sequel is much better than the first. granted, I haven’t listened to it in a hot minute, and I really do not want to.
you know what, fuck this album
gave it a relisten today, made me want to hang myself
jpegmafia did his thing. denzel feature was fire. might have to give this a few more listens, but here’s my initial rating.
edit: still a great album, might’ve praised it too highly though. 90 -> 84
edit 2: nah, 84 -> 87
11/12: 87 -> 90
modern classic, no debate
i loved the 80's sounds on this thing
still the weakest out of abel's second trilogy, but has some of the highest highs, not only in this era, but throughout his discog
His most consistant project, they're all great, but not memorable... wait why the fuck is privilege the lowest rated, no no no what
How did he go from making bbtm to this mid. i gotta admit though, that the highs on this album matches the highs of beauty behind the madness, but the lows... holy shit
The Weeknd's first debut album is scattered with hits and misses, but is very solid overall.
This is the gold standard for an artist's debut label, the quality is consistant throughout, although it has some questionable lows. The highs are fantastic, but nothing that's necessarily jaw-dropping.
