I absolutely love this album. Maybe a crazy take, but this comes right after Violator for me. Incredible.
Quite eerie sometimes, but that's right up my alley. Also, Good Morning, Captain is an actually amazing closer.
Currents overall is an incredible album all the way through. It blew my mind when I heard it for the first time. Also, Let It Happen is one of the best album openers I've ever heard.
Overall, though it still has elements from his first album which I'm not too fond of, I think this a HUGE improvement over his first both instrumentally and in terms of production.
The only thing this album does for me is show me how much Quadeca has improved since this album. There are other albums that are somewhat similar to this which I liked, but something about this one just didn't work for me for the large majority of the songs.
Apparently for most people Woodstock just brought their best performance out of them. I get so much nostalgia from this, when I used to listen to it and when I watched the films. Absolutely amazing.
I didn't really know what to expect since I hadn't ever really listened to J. Cole before this album. But to say this album blew me away would be an understatement. From beginning to end, I absolutely adore this album. The storytelling is immaculate, the flows are amazing, the beats are great. Everything about this album is basically perfect for what it's supposed to be. At least in my eyes.
Though definitely not bad, it sounds like a more boring version of The Wall, which is an album I already find to be quite overrated. There's some very enjoyable moments on here, but it's not close to Pink Floyd's best work by any stretch of the imagination.
Very good but incredibly overrated in my opinion. The concept is incredible, but musically I felt this album fell a bit short for the most part.
I did find mostly enjoyment out of this, but it's not something I'd call anything special by them.
Echoes is my favorite song of all time. One of These Days is an absolutely fantastic opener. The rest of the album is also great, but doesn't quite live up to those two.
The title track suite is one of the most bizarre songs I've ever listened to and I loved every second of it. It's definitely the best thing on here, though I do also really like Summer '68 and Alan's Psyhcedelic Breakfast. Overall, pretty great.
Due to the fact that I actually like sound collages and just random noise, I actually enjoyed this, but I completely understand why someone wouldn't. The live stuff is better though.
I found myself enjoying this, but definitely not to the extent of a lot of other Pink Floyd albums. It was good, but nothing I'd desperately want to return to, except for maybe the first two tracks.
