To everyone who doesn't get this EP:

This is satire. This is satirical character work to make fun of people who are actually like this. The fact that there are negative reviews on this is a dire sign of the effects of constant artistic analysis over enjoyment. I'm glad that kind of thing is kept to forums like this and has not become mainstream but who knows. At this point who fuckin knows.

I'll say it. This is where the Beatles started getting good, but like actually good. It's still got a LOT of the early jankiness but man, the best here is up there with anything they ever did. We're almost out of the swamp, fellas.

1. Help! - 100 - John has officially started his peak with his first perfect song. All of the themes being hinted at on every previous album are front and center here, all in front of the entire world. He's got some balls on him, let me tell ya.

This has got to be the Beatles album with the hardest A-side to B-side quality split (no, Yellow Submarine is an EP, cope and seethe please). Beatles For Sale rivals it but only just. Here we go!

1. A Hard Day’s Night - 84 - Starting off strong! We got a bonafide Lennon-McCartney performance, which is always a treat. Just makes you wanna get up and do a little jig, thanks in part to that timpani.
2. I Should Have Known Better - 80 - The chorus (middle 8?) melody is so nice it’s ... read more

I’m gonna do something that may not be repeated during my Beatles reviews: no track reviews! I really tried but there isn’t much to talk about. All I got to say is that All My Loving and Money are awesome and Little Child and I Wanna Be Your Man are some of the worst songs ever written. Back soon with the good stuff!
