YOU AND I MUST FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS
YOU AND I MUST FIGHT TO SURVIVE
*one of the greatest moments in 2000’s rock*
It’s pretty good, I like Jordan Fish production for the most part and Poppy sounds pretty good. There’s some songs where I’m like “Okay I can see where this is going,” and for an artist like Poppy that’s necessarily the worst thing, but I don’t know, there’s just some standard pop metal on here.
Solid release, love the Silverstein esque post-hardcore. It’s just a little short, even for an EP.
The track listing feels like a checkerboard pattern in quality and heaviness. It feellllls like Linkin Park could really go for that rap almost “post-hardcore” (I’m using this very loosely) rock vibe, and when you’re really getting into the album, it’s another slower song. Don’t get me wrong, the great songs are great, but the dull songs are unfortunately skips. This is also a first listen, there could be growers. Emily sounds great, make no mistake, the band ... read more
I activity enjoyed every song on this album. This could have been like a 8.0-8.3 score, but there should be a bump if no song is like a skippable track.
Every song is pretty okay, nothing really stood out to me fully. I will say my favorite was He Doesn’t Know Why.
I like songs on here, and the song I like, I really like, but the whole project feels so bloated. How do you make 35 minute album feel bloated? Really should be a 6.5-7.0 score, but songs like Politics & Violence I DO like.
Great voice, mostly okay to not good songs, but I really do like the singles.
It’s actually obnoxious how catchy the melodies on this are, especially with how the first two songs are only okay, but the entire middle run is crazy good.
Second half of this song is probably the greatest moment in music.
So… it’s got catchy hooks and the screaming is pretty good, which has been consistent through out the band’s releases, but it’s so so… samey. Like most bands who have done this “cyberpunk metalcore” trend haven’t been super amazing, but this is just disappointing, relative to their past work. Like it’s okay, it’s got cool moments but 38 minutes of it, not super amazing. Its a great band who made an okay album.
97 -> 100
Is it the greatest non studio album-single ever? Gotta be up there with Earth Wind & Fire’s September…
So the way I listened to the album, I was under the impression this WAS the final track off of Grace, due to how Spotify formats the track listing. Listen this or So Real, what a hard choice to decide what song to add to Grace, from Jeff Buckley’s perspective (apparently this is why he left this off the final album.) With that being said, the way this ... read more
THIS. ALBUM. RULES.
It’s like a… fuck I don’t know. This is like waiting for one of the greatest rock albums to exist and it’s been on earth for 30 years already. I absolutely assumed the crooning and jazz influence, but dare I say… proto-emo? Like So Real! One of the catchiest songs I’ve ever heard. I can’t even say I’m speechless, I’m yapping. Love this shit.
