Neck Deep always has the ability to hammer home that authentic pop punk sound and will always be a staple for this sound, but with that being said this album doesn't contribute much of anything new. don't get me wrong it was a fun listen but I can't help but ask what the fuck is he talking about half the time. Rapping about poop is criminal enough but to do it 4 separate times on 4 different songs, what are we doing? Not to mention the constant lines about standing on business throughout the whole album. One of the greatest songwriters of this generation continues to take Slaughter Beach, Dog to new heights in their folk path. With heavy lyricism and story telling, Crying, Laughing, Waving, Smiling creates a beautiful musical atmosphere making you feel the joys and despairs life has to offer.
TLDR: these guys don't miss
Simplicity is a powerful thing. This album is intense and emotional. "NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS" instantly transports you away.
