Grew on me too much for me not to raise the rating
Personally my favourite album from The Strokes. Genuinely so good. First of all (i know it's not a very serious criteria) but the replay value on here is incredible. Every song easily draws you in and make you add it to your playlist. A great mix of their old sound and a newer and fresher indie sound that i find particularly endearing. It blends so much with Julian simple yet meaningful lyrics. The Instrumentation is as great as ... read more
Last time i'll be talking about a Wilbur Soot related project, because he is an abuser but also because this one actually sucks.
What i liked about Wilbur's song were his lyrics: it had some good metaphors with efforts on the writing and relatable themes. But here? It's falsely deep and sad. AND (this criticism needs a bit of context ) but all the songs in which he complains about girls (which is 95 percent of the lp btw) are about the possible girl he abused. Like? What? A ... read more
probably the best solo music wilbur has released. Lyrically it's alright, it has some strong points like the themes he talks about (hypocondria, suicide and love problems) but it's not transcendent, not bad but not good either. The album has a lot of very cool guitar tabs but the mix and producing is so bad and amateur that it ruins entirely everything.
Fav songs : Losig Face, Saline Solution (very nice trumpets), Jubilee line

To be honest, i'm disapointed with Lovejoy (not talking about the members whereabouts 🤡), but i think it's not the best they could have done especially after making 2 projects before that were showing signs of upgrades. Lyrically and musically it just feels like Arctics Monkey with a mix of Wilbur Soot original lyrics (that i don't particularly appreciate). The two first tracks are very nice tough. Especially "Portraits of a blank slate" that has a bassline that ... read more
I will try to be neutral about this album because i'm a big fan of James's evolution as a musician and songwriter and i also saw him live in Paris in february.
This is a good album, sometimes it's even great but it still lacks a bit of originality and they were times when i was questionned with some musical choices. The lyrics are overall very nicely written and for my case extremely relatable. The vocals are very good ! He keeps improving his techniques and now it perfectly fits ... read more
This is quite funny to me because this album as a lot of defaults but i still consider it one of my favourite indie album. The whole vibe is so nice and refreshing. It's filled with songs to jam to and dance along. There is a ton of very efficient riffs that makes it an album full of rock and pop hymns like the amazing and very popular "What you know" (I love that song so much). It's not the most original but still so good and you can't stop listening to it. Love ... read more
Just finished listening to it, and WOW. Clearly one of the best piece of music i listened. The orchestration is SOOO GOOD, so toughtful and it fits the vocals and the lyrics so well. Talking about lyrics: what can i say except bravo. It's written with complex metaphores that embodies the feeling of Isaac Wood so well. The themes chosen are perfectly transcribed in the lyrics. So relatable a tear dropped of my eye. The vocals are gut-wrenching and the whole performance of the band is ... read more
Some might argue that their debut project D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L is better because of the sound it has. But i can confidently say this is better in all aspects. A lot of attention on instrumentals and it's visible. The album has some songs that are straight up amazing but some other songs overshadows this by their forgetability. I love the vocals and i dig the whole vibe and aesthetic. Really like the risks taken by implementing songs without any vocals especially ... read more
Honestly baffled with the sheer emotions that oozes of this LP, the instrumentation is fascinating and gave me some moments where i was like : "wow i enjoy this a lot !!". After listening to it i can confidently say this is one of the best indie rock album of the 2010's. The lyrics can be funny, meta but most of the time they are rich and deep and make you think of your own existence. A very mature and amazing project. Normaly not a fan of songs that goes over the 7 min lenght ... read more
A very solid album, a lot of work has been put in finding new sonorities while still keeping the Arctics Monkey vibe. Some great songs in it, but it still is quite behind some of their other albums such as "Whatever people say i am that's what i'm not" . Alex Turner is still such a great lyricist and in this one you can feel a certain maturity mixed with... Hornyness? And unfortunately they didn't manage to make it like in their debut album : in here it sounds a bit too ... read more
The kind of album you hear once and then never forget. Great melodies, great writing and themes. The collective work on the sound is incredible and the band bring out such deep emotions. Everything is top notch : Vocals, guitars, drums, bass. Probably their most complete album with amazing themes and lyrics. Thom's vocal as usual are angelic and the variety of sounds Radiohead can produce is simply phenomenal. Tied with OK COMPUTER and A moon shaped pool as their best work in my ... read more
Muse best album and by far, no skips, only bangers, an ode to angry guitar riffs. Only three members and yet such a complete sound. It sounds straight up amazing and even more live.
Fav songs: New Born, Plug in Baby, Bliss
Least Fav songs: Feeling good (it's a cover), Screenager.
Very honest review that may be EXTREMELY biased because of nostalgia but i genuinely thinks this is the best Video game soundtrack of all time. Such an incredible ambient record.
Fav songs: Sweden, Mice on Venus, Minecraft
Least Fav songs: None, yes it's THAT good.
Love this records, very pretty vocal and beautiful instrumental (love the basslines), the writing is a bit akward but it can still be upgraded, same for the themes that the album promotes . A very promising first album musically, a little less lyrically and meaningly but still one of my all time favourite because it grew so much on me the past year. Having less tracks could have helped with the general quality of the album.
Fav songs: I get it now, Lonely dance, So far so good

What seems like an average indie rock album has more to offer ! With it's country and surfer vibe but also with it's guitar solos and soft vocals it is a very pleasant and chill ride trough a very solid collections of rock songs. Not very original but so well executed ! Personally i love this album and i thinks it deserves more recognition.
Fav songs : Alrighty Aphrodites, Drop The Guillotine, Being so normal
Least Fav Songs: Chagu's Sideturn, Not me.
Such a nice record, sometimes a bit inconsistent but it's a great mix between the rock radiohead and the electronical radiohead. The sounds coming from this album and the whole vibe is just amazing ! Lyrically it's maybe a bit too ambiguous sometime but still good radiohead style messages. The vibe is dark, as always with Radiohead but so addictive and melodious.

I finally get it
Probably my third least favourite album of radiohead. I do understand why it's so popular but i had trouble really liking it at first, i understood it's worth after playing to the Kid A Mnesia exhibition (really recommend it it's actually mind blowing how KID A and Amnesiac were used). What i tought was only a good music experience has actually so much more and each song fits a whole narrative on it's own while still being ... read more
A cool record, quite hard to really get into it for me but after a few listen it just felt ok. Lyrically it's very nice. I really like the whole vibe and sound of the LP. I do have to say i don't really like the production? It's one of this LP critically acclaimed thing but i just found it annoying. Vocals are either great or meh. I really like the whole folk and indie vibe. The drums and guitars are really good (even if i don't like the saturated effect they have on it). A ... read more
A great album, we still have electronical and experimental aspect of KID A that will still be used on other radiohead albums. Talking about Kid A, i actually prefer amnesiac to his big brother Kid A. It's a more accessible album than it's predecessor with catchier tunes. Unfortunately it still has some song that are way under the whole standards of the album and Radiohead's Discography in general, hence the fact that it's recognized as one of their worst album with TKOL and ... read more
For a first album, it's alright. But except for a few songs like Creep or You, it's pretty much plain and unoriginal without it being inherently bad, it's just okayish compared to what's to come with Radiohead.
