this is a smile-y album. i dunno how else to describe it. i had genuine fun listening to it, and i just couldn't stop myself from smiling! it's sonically complex in terms of instrumentation and musical ideas, but simple in terms of execution in the best way possible, which is impressive. the sound design is definitely the best part of BBTC&TT, it's wonky and funky and jazzy and all things joyful :)
also the track length is adhd-friendly which i definitely appreciate lmao

criminally underrated record from a criminally underrated artist. while it's common for many hip-hop and soul records take inspiration from jazz, 'black radio' seems to do the inverse and puts soul and hip-hop into a jazz setting. and it executes this amazingly. the features all serve their purpose and none sound out of place. overall, really good record, highly recommend!
