Radiohead's debut is a straight forward 90s British Alt-Rock record with hint's of what the band would become sprinkled throughout. It's far from being a bad record, but it's also far from great.
What would be bland songwriting is sometimes saved by spacey atmospheres that reminds you of the band Radiohead would become, but in a less matured, more raw way. You can tell that this was made by a group of young angsty kids looking to let out their aggression. However, atmosphere can only get you ... read more
The songs are actually really good, I just can't stand J Mascis' voice. It sounds like if Kurt Cobain was a country singer in the worst way possible.
Feel The Pain is a great song though.
My ranking and review of each track on The Blue Album.
10. Buddy Holly - 8/10
Tremendously fun and catchy pop tune. The hook is off the wall, and ridiculously infectious, the guitars are huge and chords powerful, and the solo and drop-out leading into the final chorus is absolutely euphoric. However, this song has shrunk on me a bit over the years.
9. No One Else - 9/10
This song is a great example of something they like to do sometimes, where they build upon each chorus. With each passing ... read more
Yep.. it's AJR alright.. except this time the lyrics are "deep" and "introspective." However, the lyrics on this album still feel out of touch, and unrelatable.
It's like "The Click," but worse production, worse and more juvenile song-writing, and even more uninspiring lyrics vainly trying to relate to the millennial youth. Just imagine "The Click," but made by a bunch of literal children that think they have a grasp on what the real world is like.
Bohemian Trapsody 0/10
Why is this song almost 7 minutes long. This song has no substance to it. It's just the same thing over and over again for 98% of the track, and the part that's different feels so bland in context.
Can I Kick It 4/10
The beat was neat but the vocals over top meant nothing. No stimuli, nothing interesting about it.
Time Machine 4/10
I'm sensing a pattern here, okay instrumentals but boring and uninspired vocals. The repeating section that occupies most of the song gets ... read more

Literally the most generic album of all time. It takes all of the most overused tropes in Pop-Punk and distilled them into one album. There's no reason that one would need to listen to this album because a thousand other bands have written these same exact songs but better. Hell, Blink-182 wrote these songs but better 20 fucking years ago. They completely reverted from the direction they were going with Tom after he left, which tells me that Mark Hoppus hasn't grown much as a song writer in the ... read more
This is what I imagine Death Grips sounds like to non Death Grips fans.
Radiohead grace with their first masterpiece. A beautiful album full of new, psychedelic, and unique sounds. Unfathomed at the time, and unmatched today are some of the ideas on this record to bring forth the otherworldly soundscape. Melting walls of guitars, and endless grooves create a truly creative record. Not only that but it served as a stepping stone for experimental music in the long run. This is not an album to be reckoned with. Yorke writes with themes of society, insanity, and mental ... read more
This album is what Pablo Honey should've been. This album is filled with life, and energy as well as catchy tunes, and unique sounds. This is easily Radiohead's best, in terms of their old rock 'n roll days. Not only that but some of the sounds on here serve as an important stepping stone to OK Computer. Also the singles that came with this record were excellent. The production here is also incredibly solid. The guitars sound huge, the drums booming, and the vocals alive.

I honestly liked some of the covers they did. While they were mostly just carbon copies of the original works I found it fun to listen to.
This album is an absolutely gorgeous droning Stoner/Doom Rock album. Fun and fast paced riffs fill most of the songs making them fun to listen to. The album has an upbeat energy, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have its low moments, in a good way. There plenty "doomy" moments, like in Blackout, but there are also some Ambient, and Shoegazing moments, like Farewell or My Machine. This album blends the genres of Stoner Rock, and Shoegaze creating psychedelic experience that's pretty ... read more
