nothing really crazy but this a really nice listen. maybe it's just cause i like jazz rap, but this shit great.
i would like to have relations with this album. this album is absolutely phenomenal and every song is absolutely incredible. i can't really put into words why or how much i like this album, but i really really do.
I mean it's not as terrible as people say, most songs are at least pretty enjoyable.
it's pretty good, some of the production isn't all that imo, but still amazing for a posthumous album
honestly an amazing release and I would definitely rate this higher if it wasn't for a few tracks that bring this down for me. overall it's a very consistent project in lyricism and it also has one of the best openers and closers in an album i've ever heard. only complaint i have is that i wish the production on some of the songs was more consistent with the rest, but it's definitely worth a listen regardless.
album of the year, shit goes absolutely insane. every song on here is masterfully crafted to be the absolute pinnacle of sounds that the human ears can process. i don't think mankind will ever top this work of art, even with beings like amy schumer, cardi b, and ronnie radke, absolutey mind blowing album.
for me this is another cherry bomb situation where everyone hates this album or thinks it's mid and I really like it. I guess the main complaint is the album length/the production, but I think every song is good and i really like the production so yeah idk, great album to start the year imo.
(original rating: 85)
edit: honestly this pretty good, but just way too repetitive/basic. the first 4 tracks literally open in the exact same way and that repetitiveness is continued throughout most of the ... read more
i don't think thundercat will disappoint me. he gives off a certain mood that just makes me feel great and this is a great follow up to drunk. hopefully he'll drop another album this year, but if he doesn't i'll be fine sitting with this album for a while.
summrs has been hella consistent since he started and this prob solidifies him as one of the best trap artists for me.
85 -> 70
idk what i was thinking
all of these songs are amazing imo. the production is just really something else and it's kind of addicting how he flows over them. it's one of the most unique albums i've heard for sure and Work Wit Da Work would prob be one of my favorite songs from 2022.
90 -> 80
still pretty good imo, but not that good
i think die lit is a bit better, but this still a great album regardless.
edit: how the fuck does place have a 73, the ppl on this site are really dumb sometimes.
this is a masterpiece. everything about this album just works perfectly and the feeling I get from it is just undescribable. Also, m.A.A.d city, Swimming Pools (Drank), and Sing About Me is one of the best 3 track runs in all of music.
100 -> 95
a few of these songs aren't my favorite. i was glazing him up in my review
ima be completely honest, I don't like this album. I think the overall sound just isn't really good. There are some tracks I like, but most of then are just boring. The only reason this gets a good rating is cause of the writing.
this album got a great sound. ain't really anything super special bout this but still great regardless.
nothing terrible about this album, but a lot of the songs don't really do much for me tbh.
i probably like this album too much, but dude this album so good. it's a very smooth listen, none of the tracks overstay their welcome, and everything about this album from the production to the lyrics is just really amazing to me. (also that producer tag is amazing)
edit: 90 -> 80
fell off for me, still good though
this album grew on me so much. the first time i listened to this i thought "damn this shit overrated", second time i thought "damn this is actually pretty good", and now on my like 5th listen on top of replaying tracks a bunch i can definitely say this album is special. going into jid's older albums he's always had it, and he just came out with everything this time. this shit is really something special.
